Hello, good to hear from you Beaker.

Such pretty horses, and flowers:)

We have been very busy this weekend. We’ve got all the big stuff in the dumpster, Charlie still has to sort thru the little stuff in the shop and decide what he wants to keep and what is trash. Personally I’d trash everything but the tools, but I’ve come to the conclusion that men have a thing about nuts, bolts, washers, etc, and just can’t throw them away.

He and Travis also got the the electric outlets that the ice storm screwed up fixed, and instead of just building some steps out the patio doors in the living room, they built a small porch there too. I’ll be painting it tomorrow. It’s really only big enough to set some decorative pots with flowers on it, but will make a nice scene to look out the doors at.

Tomorrow Charlie will fix the Vet so we can get it out of the shop, then sort the tools. We still have a ways to go to get it on the market but I’m getting more and more hopeful that we will get it on the market by July.

Becky

You guys are really making progress. I’d like to see the porch when you get finished.

Yes, they have a thing about bolts and nuts and such. My son buys them up at garage sales and Bob has coffee cans full of them.

Good progress, hard work! We had a good day here, puttering around the yard, finished planting my flowers, finally got all my winter porch tarpage taken down so I have a summer porch again. :~)

Tomorrow, I think we ride, in the afternoon, after all the weekenders go home. :~)

Hope everyone had a great Holiday. I have to share a story with all of you that just has me both amazed and kind of angry.

Got a call from the BF's brother. His neighbor is looking to give away her horse because he's just too much work for her now. The brother thought of me immediately. Well, I'm not in the market for any more but listen to this...

Lady gets on the phone and asks me to help her place her horse. He's a real sweetheart. I ask her to tell me about him. He's a sixteen year old quarter horse stallion that knows how to do nothing! Never been broke to ride and he gets treated like a puppy!

I repeated back to her in an amazed voice "you're looking for a home for a 16 year old unbroke stallion?" and she didn't seem to pick up on my shock. What the heck is wrong with people???

She created a totally unacceptable situation with this horse and he's not usable for anything. Now she wants to pawn him off on someone else. If he doesn't know how to lead and tie and load in a trailer how the hell is he supposed to even get a home? It's not the horse's fault that he is completely useless and if she can't take care of him the kindest thing to do would be dig a hole and call the vet.

I hope she does not approach me again...I might have to open my big mouth and tell her what I really think.

Hello everyone.

I know, I've been scarce, but I just wanted to post this. A friend of my step brother's was killed last week in Iraq. The horrible thing is that he was killed while on his way home... he was supposed to be home this Saturday. He and my step brother enlisted together, and when my step brother's tour was up, Duffy re-upped. What makes it harder is that he was just home on leave a couple of weeks ago. He was a great kid.

Here

If you could pray for their families, it would be greatly appreciated.
