I love your house and barn. The house is beautiful. Both the horses look right at home there - I’m so glad you’ve found the right place.

What kind of mix is the dog do you think? And did you keep the kitten?

First hard freeze here was Oct. 1 and we’ve got rain this am, with snow coming to the mountains. Sometimes I miss the south :)

I think the dog is a hound mix.....I did keep the kitten, she will become a barn cat if the dog doesn’t kill her first. She’s real cute,a calico.....
I spoke with my daughter (in Ohio) and she said they might get snow this weekend...it was 80 today but rain coming and colder temps this weekend.

I love the south.

I’m in Stagecoach, NV, about 25 miles east of Carson City, NV. It’s pouring rain here at the moment, has been all day. We’re getting the leading edge of the storms in CA.

I love the desert but every once in awhile, I miss the warm weather and the green. (and the growing season) I lived in Alabama for four years and eleven years in North Carolina.

All in all though, I wouldn’t trade in my heat and dust and wind and snow - I just like to whine every once in awhile :)

Just checked this thread. I normally don't unless something is posted to me. Did you know that you can add names by adding a ; after each one? That way you can post to more than one person.

Anyways, your house and barn are beautiful! I am so glad you are happy and content in the South. Did you come to your cabin for the summer? We didn't have much of one did we?

The pup is cute and nice pool!

We have had rain for the last few days also. Today, the sun is shining and the temps are suppose to get to the high 50's low 60's.

The whole family is sick and I sure hope it doesn't get to me. Might wreck my social life lol

I go line dancing a few days a week. The local Senior center has classes that I attend, plus we go to a couple of places that have dancing in the evenings. I started going last January and have lost almost 30 lbs! I can even get on my horse now without a step. Good exercise. About 15 years ago when Country dancing was so popular, we used to go all the time. It took me awhile to get back into the groove again. It's sure is fun!

The line dancing sounds like great fun. I'm glad you're out taking advantage of it - the weight loss is a good plus too, dancing is a lot better than exercising and it even sounds better when you say it :)

I've got a bug here. Not the flu or anything related. The Urgent Care doctor called it “our local bug” and gave me a prescription for anti-nausea pills and antibiotics in case there's a low grade infection.

We (hubby, son and I) have been going out every other weekend or so and hunting arrowheads. We've had a couple of rains here and it's always easier to find them after a rain.

Take some elderberry extract and I'll keep my fingers crossed you don't get sick too.

OMG! Y’all came back!! I’ve missed talking to y’all so much! I used to check the thread some, but nobody was ever here, so I quit. I don’t know what possessed me to check tonight, but I’m glad I did.

As you can see, I’m way behind in what’s been going on. I do know about Hair’s Pony, but that was just by accident when I checked in on her blog one day. I’m dying to find out about everybody else, but it’s too late and I’ve got to get to bed. I’m leaving on a weekend horse camping trip tomorrow, but I’ll be back Saturday night so I’ll try to catch up then.

We’ve had a great summer of riding and have lots of good pictures and videos. Kari(HaveFaith) has become quite the videographer, editing all the pictures and video clips together with great songs, so we’ve enjoyed it.

Talk to y’all soon!

Beth

...We are getting close to the two year anniversary of everyone coming to OK. Seems so much longer ago then that to me. It would be fun to do it again...It would be nice to hear from everyone, wouldn’t it:) I’ve been wondering if Frog is building her house?

I was thinking about our visit too and remembering how fun it was, and YES the house is finally started, just this week. So far it's just a hole in the ground, but it's a start.

{I know I said I was going to bed, but I just COULDN'T!}

Hey, Frog:) Great to hear from you.

I’m excited for you getting your house started. Construction is stressful, but in a fun sort of way:) I’ve enjoyed watching the process. Keep us posted with lots of pictures.

I usually check over here every few days, to read the news.

Hello everyone!

Remember me? :-)

It looks like it's been a while since anyone has posted here. Life has been difficult and keeping me busy so I haven't had any time for freeping at all. I just wanted to poke my head in and see if anyone was up to anything. I miss you ladies, and think of you. I lurk on Hair's Baywind forum, but don't post. Hair has done a fantastic job. Here it's, I don't know, cozy.
I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Are you gearing up for Christmas at all? I'm already hearing Christmas songs on the radio. They didn't even wait until after Thanksgiving on some stations. We just had our first snow fall last night, only an inch or two, but it's starting to feel more like "The season".

Hi Tuffy!

I'm hanging in there. Life has thrown me a couple of curve balls that I'm not quite prepared for, but life is tricky like that. Poland was a blast and one of the greatest experiences that I have ever had. The Fellow has a friend in Japan who is getting married, and we may or may not go to the wedding. That will be exciting if we do. I've spent a lot of time traveling back and forth to Chicago because The Fellow was at business school, but I haven't set foot on a plane since June.

It's good to hear from you. I'm sorry about your pony. You did a fantastic job managing his Cushings for all of this time.

I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. If I don't hear from you, have a very Merry Christmas. The same goes for everyone.

Well hey, stranger! Good to hear from you. Can you post some pics of your Poland trip? I would love to see them, what an exciting trip! I actually have family living in Japan, a nephew that works for Konami and a brother in law that was in the service and ended up staying there. He wants to move back here but my nephew loves it there! He’s living his dream working at Konami. He just got married to a gorgeous Korean woman.

It seems that most of us in the Saddle Club has had curve balls thrown at us lately. I got another one recently, my mother in law was just diagnosed with breast cancer and is having a mastectomy tomorrow. She’ll be fine, it was caught early enough, but still scary stuff.

You have a great Christmas, too! And all the Saddle Club. I sure miss you guys!

Hey Tuffy!

The Fellow lived in Japan for three years while teaching English. Is your nephew American? (Please don't take offense) From what I understand, it's extremely difficult to be non-japanese and get a job other than teaching English or doing English translation. Kudos to your nephew. Is your brother-in-law on Okinawa? I have a friend whose husband is stationed there. The whole family moved over there this summer. They're living on the military base there.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. Cancer is a scary road. I'll say a few prayers.

I'll happily post some photos when I get a chance today. Not sure when that'll be but I'll be sure to Ping you.

Can’t wait to see the pics! I’ll watch for them.

Yes, my nephew is American (no offense taken! at all!) He did have a very, very difficult time getting a full time job in Japan but it did help that he’s fluent in Japanese and Korean, he’s also a college graduate in Japanese (University of Texas). It still took years for him to get that job. He’s been in Japan quite awhile. My brother in law lives in the Tokyo area, I think. He teaches english, so funny that you mention that. My nephew at Konami started out teaching english and doing translation when he first moved there. It’s funny that you knew all that information about Japan. I had no idea until I had family move there that it’s so difficult for Americans to get a job there, other than teaching english.
