Hey, the computer/gun room looks great! I’m sure it’s much brighter in there after getting rid of all that paneling and carpet, especially with that nice big window. Heh, looks like your cat has been at the headrest of that black leather chair in the foreground. The left arm of my brown leather recliner looks like that too. I don’t know what possessed me to buy leather with a house full of cats!
This forum sure is quiet nowadays. After the Holidays, I will probably go on over to BAYWIND FARM FORUM. Right now, its been pretty hectic around here. We are planning to go to an indoor water park, when Alison is off on Christmas vacation. That should be fun. Plus, there is a casino nearby....LOL
Indoor water park huh? That sounds fun. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one. All the ones around here are outdoor, but then it gets warmer a whole lot sooner here than it does there.
Speaking of warmer, one of these day I’m gonna get me an outdoor hot tub. I think it’d be great, sitting in it out on the patio on a cool night, watching the stars. Mmmmmm, I can feel it now! Somebody’d have to come drag me out, limber as a wet noodle!
Oh, and Baywind is nothing if not interesting. There’s been a little drama over there this past week when one younger member decided she wanted to set up a different account and pretend to be two different people, one of which was mad at the other for pretending to be her. Sheesh! It was a little bizarre, but it got downright funny before Hair finally banned both accounts. Walkin Fool was playing detective and comparing the syntax and spelling characteristics of both “posters” and Hair compared the IP addresses of both and found them to be the same. It was funny. And the darned thread is still going, just because people think it’s so funny that it’s still around, with well over 500 posts.
It’s a little harder to get to know people over there, just because of their sheer numbers, but there’s lots of good folks over there and for the most part they’re very well behaved, friendly and helpful. So come on over after Christmas and pull up a chair. I think you’ll feel right at home in no time.
Hello,
Frog, Loved the Christmas parade picture. I still find it amazing how well behaved your “youngster” horses are in situations like that:)!!!
Everything here is fine...getting ready for Christmas. In fact tonight we are making our ravioli for our Christmas Dinner. The Bixby Christmas parade was last night, I tried to get pictures of the horses, but they didn’t come out at all. But it was a good parade.
Life has been a bit tough lately, not necessarily because of the holidays, but it’s now just at a year that we found out what was wrong with Larry, and when he started really crashing. We’re trying to be cheerful for the holidays, tho, and they are providing some distraction.
Another stressor...they are predicting an ice storm starting tomorrow night thru Tues. I believe. That was something I was really dreading hoping it wouldn’t happen...of course it may not, you know weather men:). But I’m picking up some gas today, and getting the generator ready just in case. I don’t really think it could get as bad as it was last year ~crossing fingers~ :)
HEY - I’ve really been wondering about you... even tried to call you yesterday, but I have the business phone number on my caller ID, and when it went to Charlie on the voice mail I didn’t leave a message. Was going to try again when ecurbh got home (he had the cell phone where your other numbers are stored) but by then I was in wind storm worries and distracted.
So how’s that for excuses!
I know this time will be hard... Was hard for a number of years for me after losing my mom. We count on our comforts and family and husbands during those times, and it just never feels right without them. I know it would be very hard without mine, now that I have him. I do think it’s therapeutic to try to have a meaningful Christmas, including talking about how much Larry is missed as a big part of it. I hope there isn’t a feeling you shouldn’t talk about it, I know you should. Share good memories and stories, and laugh and cry, you know?
Gosh, I sure hope your ice storm is not too bad, if at all. That makes it all the more depressing that you were going through that last year too, on top of everything else. I hope you ~don’t~ have it bad, and are not alone up there on the mountain. I suppose you have to stay to take care of critters and such, but I hope you can get the kids to come help and keep you company too.
I sure wish Rocky had a good home by now so you could pack up the pooches and go to town, or your kid’s place, at least for the storm.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you don’t get the bad weather.
Are all the kids going to come over to help with the ravioli? That sounds so good :) - here it is always same old, turkey for Thanksgiving and ham for Christmas. I voted for lasagna this year but was overruled.
Praying for strength and comfort for you and the kids thru the holiday season, and maybe a miracle or two to put a smile on your face.
I’ve been absent for a long time here and am way behind, I’ll try to get caught up soon and active again. Al’s memorial is today and I’m trying to get myself together for that and then dinner for his kids this afternoon. I’m become a master at putting things off until the last minute and I’m taking a break from cleaning house and getting ready. My niece claims her mother and I are the same, clean for ten minutes, take a 1hr coffee break and then another 10 minutes cleaning :)
We had a dusting of snow last night but don’t have real bad weather coming in until tomorrow or Monday. Well, discounting the high winds last night but I slept though that.
May you have a blessed holiday season.
Hey - I’ve been really wondering about you too. Glad you checked in with us! Hullo Duchess! Hope all is well around your place.
I promise I’ll get back on soon, I’m dealing with severe computer problems (I hope to get an AT&T card for the computer soon) and I’m connecting much of the time at 19 - 24 kbps.
Winter is here :( not my favorite time of year. I’m handling it worse than usual. Lots of whining.
Oh really.... I thought you loved winter! Maybe I’m remembering wrong ;~)
Thanks all.
We are all getting together to make the ravioli at Jenny’s house. We moved my dining room table to her house for Thanksgiving. None of us really want to have holidays at my house, wanted to do something different. I brought all my decorations down to the office, so it looked nice for the parade last night. We even saw one lady pose her kids in front of the window with the tree to take their picture:).
I’m really hoping the weather men have it wrong too:) So Hair, I didn’t realize you had wind...how did your camper work?
It never got bad enough to need to go out there... but that didn’t stop me from watching it intently and worryin about it.
We had several puckering gusts... a couple were 40 mph, but not more. If there were more of those that lasted longer, we’d have bugged out.
Our issue today is it’s going to get down into the teens at night with highs in the twenties, so if the power had decided to go out in winds, it would have been not very much fun at all.
We have a lot of wind today, but it’s not cold, tomorrow it’s suppose to be 67, then 27 on Mon. Hoping this wind is done by then.
The stable of the manger scene at the church across the street is all blown over, and it’s a pretty big stable. I could stand up in it.
Sounds like a sad scene... did all the figures and animals fall over too?
Hey hello...nice to hear from you and hope everyone is fine and dandy.
Christmas was never the same for me either, after my Mom died. Alison and the kids have filled the void thou. This year, I am into more than I have been for many years.
I hope your storm is not bad. It has warmed up and rain is expected here today and tomorrow.
Hey! Great to hear from you. I’ve been thinking about you lately. I figured this would be a hard Christmas for you so I’m glad to hear you’re keeping yourself busy with the kids. Good idea about moving the celebrations to their house. Change is good to keep your mind off things.
I hope the ice storm passes you by. Those are never any fun, but even if it doesn’t it shouldn’t be as bad as last year, simply because there’s not as many tree limbs left to fall.
Good to hear from you too! I’m sorry about your friend’s death. Losing someone is hard, but it seems especially hard this time of year. Hopefully after the Holidays everything will settle down and you can get back to a more normal schedule.
I’m glad to hear the high winds and snow passed you by too. It sounded really bad there for a while in the higher elevations.
