This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
LOL - I don’t think that’s what it looks like. At least that’s not what my part of the country looks like. ROTFLMAO
You are right - the Pacific is very cold.
I’m way behind guys - I’ve been lurking but still haven’t read all the posts. Hope to catch up this weekend.
It doesn’t? It’s got the naked hills around... maybe a little greener down in the valley but it is right next to a river. ;~)
LOL! I’ll bet you got the PWNED hotlink block picture didn’t you. That had me laughing too, but you can right click on it and copy the actual link and paste it on your address line and the REAL picture will come up rather than that “kiss my butt” picture.
Oh it was naked alright, but it wasn’t hills. ;o)
I’ll bet you never saw it because the real pic was already in your cashe.
He does look like a nice fella. Glad you’re happy. What a first impression to run into-the belly dancer. How’d you keep from laughing and staring all the time? Or maybe you did. Glad you got away from the nut on the B___. I don’t know what that is, must be public transportation. Sounds scary. Beautiful pictures. I love the bridge and the boats in the harbor.
I think BART stands for Bay Area Regional Transport. Just a guess on my part though. I’m assuming they were on a commuter train, kinda like MARTA that runs all through Atlanta.
Ah geeze! I still see the fire picture! What’s there... is it obscene? Should I report abuse on it?
No, not obsene :) Just a cartoon butt with lipstick print on one cheek.
Followed Frog’s instructions and got the actual picture. There’s (gasp) a river there and green.
Well, there’s a lot of Central Washington that looks a lot like that, if you get more than a mile from a river. ;~)
@8 am our baby arrived All white except for the ears are sorrel.
Baby hasn't nursed yet...after birth is still hanging from mom. Do I panic yet???
Congratulations! Duchess and frog have both had far more babies than I have. But till they get here I’ll say what I know.
Don’t pull on the afterbirth. Let it hang. If it’s dragging you can even knot it. to keep her from tearing it. That’s not a worry it can take a few hours.
You say baby isn’t nursing, but what IS she doing? Just resting, trying to get up... it can take a long time for them to figure out where to go to nurse.
Now.... who is this baby and where are the pictures? Long time no talk!
Good morning.
Beaker, looks like you had a good time. So when are you going back:)?
Mommadooo3 Congratulations on the new foal.
Hey there - good morning!
What are you doing this weekend? We’re not sure about today... maybe something horse related. Tomorrow we are going up to the beach. :~)
Hair is right. Tie a knot in the bottom of the afterbirth. If it soesn’t drop after 6 hours, call a vet. You’ve got about a twelve hour window for the foal to nurse. For sure, the foal has some color right? Not solid white?
Oh, and congratulations :)
Not doing to much. I brought my truck in so Travis could put a new belt on it, it’s been squealing all summer when i turn the AC on. I just wasn’t using the AC, but it’s definitely getting too hot now to not have it.
Probably hang around here for the day. Nothing special.
Have fun with the horses.
Well first we’re going to go to the dump. :~)
