This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Thanks. 52 years and still kicking; just not quite as high.
Was 7/1 your birthday, too? I just read up and Frog said it was I think. Happy Birthday to you, too. Who is older or younger?
Hope you have a great time. Sounds like a winner to me.
Great pictures. Looks like alot of fun and very beautiful.
Daisy was hesitant about just going close to that lake in Kentucky. There were small waves and a log bobbing. She finally did it, but she didn’t like it.
Yes, my birthday is 7/1, and I’m 54...so looks like I’m the older.
Well, at least that is fairly early, you won’t be sitting around tomorrow waiting for a late afternoon take off.
Have a safe trip and a fun one.
Happy belated birthday - hope you had a good day.
Happy birthday to you too - hope yours was good also.
Thanks, I did and we are going to Shelbyville, TN the end of the week for TWH shows and sale. Should be interesting.
Becky,
There’s not much difference in 2 years. Hope yours was nice.
Have fun at the show. I think I’m spending the week-end pickling peppers :)
You will have a great time - praying for a safe trip for you.
Gorgeous pics, BladeRider
Praying safe-trip and fair weather prayers for you this morning. I’ll bet you’re about to jump out of your skin by now.
I hope you get a window seat. There’s some gorgeous scenery as you fly across Colorado with the mountains and Utah with all the different colored rocks. It looked like I was flying over the Grand Canyon but I knew I wasn’t. I think my nose was flat from pressing it to the window by the time I got to SF. ;o)
Have fun!
Happy fourth!
Hair, hows it going with fireworks. We are going to be some of those people you dislike. We are celebrating tomorrow night. We will be down at Jenny’s. My neighbor right next door was shooting some off last night. Funny thing, it was thundering and lightening also, at the same time, so quit a show. Tucker was here spending the night with me. I took him out to watch, but he did not like it at all:)
Nah... I won't be able to hear yours! :~)
So far... much lighter than usual. Tonight may be a different story.
Well so far my 4th has been a nice low-key one. We went over to the in-law’s and I grilled about 14 home-grown t-bones for lunch. I had 3 grills going at one time. Then we had home-grown corn on the cob and baked potatoes to go with it and some homemade ice cream for dessert. Mmmmm, it was good. Then all the kids got in the pool and had a ball until it started thundering. We’ve got a nice slow rain going right now, just perfect for a nap and for wetting down all the dry grass so that the fireworks we shoot this evening won’t catch the pastures on fire. And speaking of fireworks, the neighbors across the road from my BIL’s barn had gotten an early start with theirs when I went to feed, but I guess that’s a good thing because at least the horses had time to get used to it while it was still daylight instead of charging around the pasture in the dark.
So I hope everyone has a good 4th with lots of good food and fun to be had. God Bless America!
Good morning! We made it through OK - A few of the neighbors still had a lot but some were quiet, so I’d call it over all lighter than it’s been in past years. It was mostly over by 11 but a few neighbors still lit off more until after 1:30.
We spent from about 9:30 till a little after 11 out in the pasture with the horses, the dogs were in the house, mostly passed out.
In fact, we think Gidget was a little too passed out. She was difficult to wake up when we came back in. I don’t think we’ll give her two of the Ace again. She’s still drunk this morning.
