FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread! - Thread 12

Posted on 08/07/2007 7:33:14 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - (very out of date) Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)

I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

Weeeeell, isn’t that special! I guess we’ll all be using Photobucket from now on. $crew Snapfish! I won’t be ordering any prints from them anymore either.

How can I move all my photo's over from Snapfish to Photobucket, can I do that?

You’ll have to re-upload them all. That’s the only way I know of since they’re separate companies.

Can I download to CD or one of those external memory sticks from Snapfish?

For a fee. I think they charge on a per-picture basis for downloads. Not 100% sure of that though.

Well, you know she always seemed to rally some in the winter. Summer seems to be when she would lose ground, a little more each year.

I need to compare to what I have on my home PC. I think I will start saving them to CD too.

I'd probably be with her, considering your heat ;~)

I have been busy as a bee today... cleaning. I took apart the kitten crate and put it back down for Barkley since the kittens are right at home in the back room and they're mostly all leaving tomorrow anyway. Then I deep cleaned our bedroom. Vacuumed all the nooks and crannies and dust bunnies (I think one of them might have been a dog) and cleaned the dog beds. Company coming tomorrow is good inspiration... We need to have company over at least a couple times a year. :~)

I’d so love to ride at the ocean. I just wonder if I could get Bay near it. :~)

Boy you have been busy!

So Sedona is coming tomorrow to get the kittens? You won’t know what to do with yourself when that rabble is gone. It’ll be too quiet!

...I just wonder if I could get Bay near it...

Not unless you got a whole lot more forceful with him than you usually are around boogers.

I have a hard time getting mine to walk out into the river or lake, where they can see the other side and with mostly LITTLE waves, so I can just imagine how they'd react to BIG waves with nothing beyond them. I'd imagine that Bay's reaction to them would be orders of magnitude greater than that, just because of his A-rab-ness. But you never know. You'll just have to take him sometime and see what he does. If he freaks out, you can either take him home, or stay there the rest of the day and work with him.

Heh... well, Honestly, I think the worst thing that would happen is he’d ride along on the beach sideways staring at it, but wouldn’t go ~in~, much like Bob said he did the whole parade backwards because he didn’t like the float behind them. ;~D

I think the thing he would find boogery is that the line of water moves so much, it comes waaaaaay in and waaaaay out with each wave. I think he’d be OK IN it or OUT of it, but he wouldn’t like that moving shoreline. ;~)

Yep, it does seem to be that moving boundary that they don’t like. I wonder if they think it’s a living thing or something. But the shifting sand under their feet seems to bother them too, even in the river, so mine don’t really like to stand in there very long either.

Heh, it might be a good place to teach him to side-pass. ;o)

Fleas and ticks didn’t help either in the summer. The last few years it was real hard to get her to let me put Frontline one her. I didn’t want to be too forceful with her because I was never sure if it hurt her or she just didn’t like it and would bite. I had hoped that keeping the other dogs Frontlined would help her, but she had a lot on her:(...she’s better off now.

Yeah it is good to have company:)...will this be the first time you have met Sedona?

Kristy gave away 4 kittens during the Festival. She had an appointment today to get both her cats spayed, but lo and behold one of them gave birth to kittens last night...she knew the cat was pregnant, just not that far along. They’re outdoor cats so she never could get a good look at her.

UUHHHHHHHH....I’m miserable. Just got back from eating out with the kids. It’s my birthday, I ate too much.

Yeah - will be the first time to meet her :~) We’ve been talking about her and her hubby coming down for a ride. I think that would be fun too, sometime this summer!
