They were often standing room only. We made the mistake the first time of getting in and sitting in one of the long benches that face out along the edge. Then more people come and stand right in front of you with their butt in your face. We couldn't see anything. Next time, we just waited for a standing spot and stood with our butts in some other fool's face. ;~)
Kinda made you feel like a midget in an elevator didn't it? ;o)
I loved visiting SF when I lived in California. When I finally saw the Atlantic Ocean I was amazed. After my Pacific it looked like a lakeshore :) Placid and warm, I grew up with a wild, windy, rocky ocean.
Bob just called me from the vet’s. Buddy’s eye surgery is going to be $895 today. He has panus - both the queenslands do, and also a ulcer of sorts on one eye that has to be removed today. I’ve always thought he was worth a million bucks, guess he’s working on it now :)
Yeah - I had the same observation about the Atlantic and how relatively quiet it is compared to the always crashing Pacific. And yet, the Atlantic is the one with the hurricanes. Strange.
Oh dear on the eye. Is that like cherry eye I’ve seen or ???
Any news on the kitties?
Are Momma and Sister cat eating the food you put out?
Oh yeah - both mommas are still coming around and eating well. They’ve even let me see them the last couple nights again. Kitten news is just that they are taking up all my time! Like running a day care around here.
It’s good news that both mommas are coming around. It’s also good that Sister Cat is still there eating. She’ll need the food, especially if she is still nursing.
You’ll be seeing the other little kittens as soon as they get bigger and Sister Cat lets them leave their hiding place. Cats are very resiliant and unlike dogs are able to live quite well in the wild. (quite well escept for getting pregnant)
I don’t know what cherry eye is. Panus (and I’m sure it’s spelled wrong) is caused by UV rays at high altitudes - generally in German Shepards. It causes blindness. There isn’t any cure but hopefully we’ve got it arrested for awhile. Zuni still have some vision in one eye - we’re hoping Buddy will have some too.
Huh... It’s a new one for me. I sure hope the surgery is successful!
I hope you’re right, ladyjane. :~)
That is a good site. I have referred to it before on other topics.
Thanks. Do you have problems with pannus?
Where in SF is this? I am intrigued? Are there any calmer beach rides? I’d like to take the fellow. :-)
So sorry to hear about your puppy dog. I hope the surgery comes out ok.
Thanks - I’m still waiting to hear how surgery went. I keep hoping it’s just that Bob forgot to call me and I haven’t had a chance to call home in the past two hours.
hey - I’d send either one home with you.
We were almost home, when a car was coming down the road. We went into a neighbors yard on the side, a branch fell and spooked Jody. She whirled around and I lost my balance and fell off right in the middle of the road! It knocked the wind out of me and I was worried I broke my hip. Amy called the ambulance and they took me to the ER. After x-rays, there isnt anything broken, thank goodness. My rear hurts like mad and my right ankle. My right foot must have got caught in the stirrup and twisted it.
Jody was really good with the bikes and cars, but spooks at a stupid branch falling. I think that will be the end of me riding her. You just cant relax with a horse like that. Amy took a picture of me laying in the middle of the road...I said take one of the "Road Kill"! :)
