This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
I should post that on the thread...
In fact, I did... ;~)
I love that picture :)
Didn’t John Wayne’s dog riding behind him part of the time. I’d be surprised if they went on real long rides and Buddy and Zuni hang in there for 15 miles - both very good about staying close but not in harm’s way. Only took Zuni one time to figure out she needed to conserve her energy so no chasing rabbits, etc. Took Buddy a bit longer but they both got to the point they even ignore coyotes cruising by.
:) now I’ve got to go look.
LOL!! I saw that. I don’t know WHAT to think about that thread. Definitely some strange folks there, but that pic should stir the pot a bit. You’re bad! ;o)
I think she’s looney toons.
Well she definitely didn’t react to the picture the way I expected. I figure she’d go ballistic and accuse you of mocking her (which of course you were) and being mean (which you weren’t). She may be crazy, but at least she’s got a sense of humor.
I think we are going to have a whole parade of people thru the building, old ones and new ones. My brother is going to be there for sure one evening, and several others....
A friend and I went to Ark. last Fri:)
We're going to have fun:)
Becky
So is your brother moved back for good yet?
My hubby has a tee shirt with that picture on it!
We're going to have fun:)
...careful with that... y'all aren't used to that strong beer. ;~)
Sounds like a good time! And I can trust you will capture the festivities in pictures? :~)
Yes, he came home couple of months ago.
He lives in another town about an hour from me, but at least it’s not long distance phone anymore.
Becky
LOL...Tami and several on the trip home, I was driving...by the time we got home, she decided going didn’t seem so silly:)
Just hoping to make it a relaxing weekend, nothing outrageous.
Becky
I posted it in the horse forum thread too.
Sounds hysterical! I’ll have to watch when I get home. Grrrrrr!
“Looks like we made a big mess. Eeeeew!”
LOL!! With such a tiny cat I guess it’s just a little mess.
Heh... it was small, but a nasty mess nonetheless! :~)
Those little kittens are so cute. I wish I lived near you. I’d want all of them.
I especially like the little shy one. I think it’s the tortoise. She’s the one that the bigger kitten was playing with her tail.
What a difference in size between Momma’s kittens and Sister’s kittens.
Bay just scared the crap out of me.
Went out and he was laying out flat in the pasture, which by itself isn’t unusual, except for the time... it’s feeding time, not usually nap time. I whistled, and he answered me, and stayed down flat. ACK! I hurried out there and he called and thrashed around a bit and couldn’t get up. I gave some kind of order for ecurbh to call the vet, but he kept coming with me. We got to him and he just layed there with a stressed out kind of look on his face. I seriously thought I was seeing his end. That he’d fallen and broken a leg or something. But I wanted to see him try to get up. Turns out he’s laying in a hole and he can’t get out. Is that the only thing wrong? I yell and tell him to get up, and when he tries, I pushed hard on his neck and wither to help roll him up prone. He manages to get to his feet, but he’s sweaty on one side. Walking fine, didn’t appear to break a leg, I think he just got himself cast in a hole. I don’t think he’s colicky, he seems fine, but I’m watching. I think he just went to roll there and got stuck. Who knows how long he layed there.
Seems fine now, eating hay.
Oh, wow, that would be scary. Getting cast like that can be serious. Good thing you found him when you did.
