This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Great to see you back :)
Sounds like you had a wonderful time with Levi - very cool. Hoping your health issues resolve soon.
So - little girl on a big horse. My son's little sister on Prez. Totally fearless.
It is remarkable how people will go look at horses who are completely inappropriate for them. I had to work pretty hard to talk that lady out of my pony when I was still trying to sell her. I knew she’d put a kid on her too soon. I mean, what else can you do with her?
But Pres looks like a very good baby sitter. :~)
Glad you had a good ride and stayed in the saddle ;~).... Good to see you around!
Bought new colors this year. Less pink and white, more orange and red.
And I filled my three rubber feed pans with impatiens, still very small.
Also planted around my fish pond, but I haven't taken pictures of that yet. May move the fish today. :~)
Also... I'm a moron. I know when I was buying seeds I was thinking Morning Glories. I looked a blue one that I thought was just like yours, and then I picked up another couple packets of other colors and tried to decide, but when I looked at them yesterday, they were sweet peas! I don't want sweet peas.
I gave them to Rosie, along with the extra sunflower seeds. So I won't have any morning glories this year. Just as well, we may be moving the fence I wanted to plant them on. I will have two planters that will hopefully have giant sunflowers.
It seems people don’t READ ads. No where have I ever mentioned that Friday is broke to ride (she is and was a backyard horse for 10 years) so why on earth are people interested in buying her as a trail horse or an endurance horse? She is specifically advertised as a brood mare :)
Hope you have a great day - we’re on third day of rain here. Almost like we suddenly have your weather. Everything is turning green.
I really like the colors you picked. That will make some bright spots even in the shade. I can’t remember the name of those plants but I’ve always liked them. I am interested to see how they do, for some reason I thought they were kind of hard to grow.
They are Gerber Daisy’s. They come back every year around here. Don’t know abt. your climate. I would have them everywhere, but they are expensive around here. Maybe the ones I have will multiply and I can divide them.
I see it now, but never noticed.
Thanks.
Today was a busy day here, horses all got their shots and wormed, horses got worked and groomed.
We've got a woman coming out three times a week working with BamBam, Slick and Lace. Janelle will be coming out t least that often to start CJ.
CJ - with the knots out of her mane and the dirt brushed off
Slick working with a saddle on - he has the most beautiful extended trot :)
Slick learning patience.
Lace working with a saddle on - she is going to take a little longer because the woman scared the daylights out of her the first time she put the saddle on.
BamBam - getting to be a pretty good horse. She was upset today because she wasn't first and kept whinning.
And Sam - whatever the other guys are doing, he wants in on it too.
Beautiful horses. You too. The kitens got baths today and 2 went to their new homes.
Wow, you had a busy day. All your bunch looks great, especially CJ and Slick. I love their dapples. That’s a bummer about having to talk people out of buying your horses, but it’s good that you did it. Too many people don’t care who they sell a horse to, so long as they sell it. Hopefully some more suitable buyers will come along.
That’s great - are the ones left staying with you?
How did they take to the bath?
It was amazing. I was expecting a fight but they were really mellow. I took a pan of warm water outside. I didn’t wet their heads though. My DIL was watching and said it probably felt good.
Boy - this board is suddenly really slow - or maybe it’s me again.
Thanks. I really want them all to go to the right home if they have to leave here :( so I’m not real cooperative with potential buyers right now.
That’s good. Did you happen to take pictures of the process? :)
Well kind of. Cody the 5 y/o had the camera. We’ll see:’)
LOL - they are probably great pictures.
They are all beautiful. I think I am partial to CJ. I hope they all get good homes. I know how you feel.
Thanks. It seems everyone loves CJ, I think it’s her striking color. My favorite is Slick, my ugly duckling :)
