This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Have a great time and take lots of pictures :)
Today Tracey is coming to pick up her horses - down two :) but a woman who used to work for our doctor is dropping off one :( She needs a place to keep it for a couple of weeks.
And a plumber is coming to fix the swamp cooler :)
Gidget is obsessed with them, but in a good way I think... she licks whatever the stick through the bars on their crate.
Good morning... Good luck with that horse moving and plumbing! :~)
Those kittens are just so cute.
Yeah - but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an ugly one. :~)
While I was out taking pictures of Josie and E, I noticed a grey thoroughbred in a paddock. So I had to take pictures of him too.
As they pulled out of the driveway, the plumber showed up.
As I was saying hello to the plumber, the lady with the horse and her daughter and two friends showed up.
Everybody has finally left - I can't believe how much I've done in the past three hours. Time for a nap I think.
We cleaned house, did dishes, and played with kittens. :~)
Need to tidy up where we made a mess of things out in the barn yesterday.
Must have worked because they ran around like CRAZY afterwards! They're all over the place once they get fueled up! They played hard for about 30 minutes in the crate, then had a nap.
Well, like Bob told her this morning - she’s still our kid and we take care of our kids.
Get some canned cat food and mix it with the formula into a real soupy mix for them. That should help.
That’s a good idea... I have canned food in their crate, but they haven’t given it a second look yet.
Well, that’s good. It’d be rough if things were not amicable.
I think in another month Slick is going to be grey with black spots/dapples. I am amazed at how fast he’s turning. And I can’t figure out where the grey came from. Neither Sonny nor Fancy, Slick’s dam, have grey in their background that I’m aware of.
Wow, those are the cutest kittens ever!! But when are they ever NOT cute. You, ecurbh and Rosie are doomed! You were sucked under their spell the minute you saw them. ;o)
Looks like you’re handling motherhood well though and they’re all healthy and happy. That’s cute about Gidget. I’ll bet she’d mother them too if she got the chance.
That’s good news on the horse-moving front. They’re all gorgeous though. Love that gray!
The play day sounds like fun. I’m looking forward to your pictures.
I took Whirl to the vet’s for her first Coggins this morning, along with the two barn kitties for their shots and worming. They were NOT amused when I put them in the carrier, but they settled down pretty well when I got them in the truck.
This afternoon we’re going to my nephew’s 1st birthday party. He’s my husband’s youngest brother’s first child and it’s really interesting because my OTHER nephew, the son of the oldest brother, is 28 and has kids of his own that are older than that. Some people get a late start I guess. He’s adapted to it fairly well, but it’s gotta be tough being over 40 and having a baby for the first time. Better him than me though! ;o)
Anyways, it should bw fun. Talk to y’all later ....
Now the boys doing flags and poles. Jenny did the leadline. I took JP on his barrel run, and it took me about 5 minutes to recover:)
We did have someone that seemed very interested in Harley, but it isn't anyone I would be particularly happy about selling him too. Nice people, they just don't know how to ride, rather heavy handed. I hope the guy was just talking.
Becky
Tracey’s horses are very pretty.
What’s the pole with the tires staked around it for?
Becky
Oh my, how often do you think you will feed them like that. Looks like a job.
