This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
So - back to read the thread you pointed me at. Alfalfa causes these stones? I know, read it and I will know :)
Boy - I miss a lot over there, hit and run reader I guess.
I found it real interesting.... both counts!
I gotta go now... I just got reminded of an appointment. Ack!
Well I guess since I’m off today, I’ll go check paddocks. I’ve never heard of Enteroliths and have never seen them here. All of our horses are on alfalfa, some on alfalfa exclusively. We rarely have a bout of colic (knock on wood) and don’t seem to have any health issues.
Did you find any stones?
Boy that new gal of WF’s is a prickly thing, ain’t she? ;~)
No - I didn’t find any stones or anything resembling that. I don’t know what to think now about it.
Guess I best go read some more over there and find out about WF’s new girlfriend.
LMAO - I think prickly is really much too nice a term for her. Where does he find these women anyway?
LOL, I’m thinking that guy is as goofy as that last girlfriend was:)
The forecast here is pointing to us having a beautiful day...we may be very busy at the store. Today is our “Grand Opening” of the garden center...I didn’t even know that did that. With the nice weather and the extra advertising that has one on this week we could be swamped.
The rest of this week is looking great to. I’m having Direct TV installed tomorrow...Dish TV made me mad and I can get a better deal from Direct so I changed.
Well, that’s my news for the day:), see you all later, have a great day!
BEcky
Sounds like a busy day indeed!
Not sure what’s on our agenda today... hopefully something productive!

Rest in Peace, Ol' Man
My sympathies. He was a horse very appropriately named and beautiful too.
Oh I’m sorry for your loss. May he rest in peace indeed.
My old guy is 28 this year as well. What happened to Tuff?
Well, we untarped the trailer and took it out for a shakedown cruise and couldn’t get the brakes to work at all... so we just drove it down to the service place. They replaced the plug on the truck. We left the trailer there for servicing... needs the bearings and the brakes serviced anyhow.
Oh yeah, that relationship is gonna last.
Thanks. He's resting about 100 feet behind where the pic was taken.
He has been falling off a lot the past few months. I think he just laid down for a little rest and getting back up was too hard.
Maybe one day I'll get to ask him..........
Well, that’s not a bad way to go, all in all. He had a good long life with you, that’s all we can hope for.
I’ve been blessed I know, with my old guy, and every year from here on out is a gift.
He’s resting in a good place and yes - one day you’ll get to ask him.
Hope you had a good day. We just switched to Direct also.
So - were you overwhelmed at the garden center today? We sure were at the library. Sunny weather brought out EVERYBODY.
Yeh - I don’t think it will last long enough for me to need to remember her name :)
