The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - (very out of date) Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)

I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

Baby is here - not mine, HaveFaith - see above.

He's a colt. We found him this am. 1st nite Hal didn't get up and check on her. Now, just have to figure out if he'll turn gray or not. Internet says baby will be gray if both parents are, but he's sorrell looking now. I'm just glad he's here and their both alive. Her belly swelling already went way down before he was born and you can't even see it now. I am soooo relieved. Frog, Bladerider, her hubby, and I rode today. I'm sure there will be some great pics. I can't think of anywhere I've ridden that was any prettier, maybe a tie. I'm so glad we went there. It is where we are going to camp and be on Best of America By Horseback. The scenery will be hard to beat if it shows up like it was in person. It's a month off though, so some of the foliage will block some of the view.

Look around the eyes for sign of white or grey hairs, if not now, when he starts to shed his foal coat.

If he’s going to grey, he’ll have a rather peculiar phase getting there, duchess has a picture of one of hers, I think :~)

I must say momma has a rather bewildered look on her face!

He will get or have faint white or grey circles around his eyes if he’s going to grey out in the near future. It’s possible, greys are born a color and then turn.

What beautiful scenery there. What is Best of America By Horseback?

That's what Frog said abt around the eyes. Sissy is being a good mama. I guess she didn't know what the flash was. It was real early this am. Best of America By Horseback is a TV show on RFDTV (379 on Direct TV Sat.). A group of people lead by Tom Seay (on gaited horses!!) visit a different horse trail campground or resort every month in a different state. This is the 2ond visit to Alabama. They usually film part of the ride and you get a chance to have 5 seconds or so of fame when you ride by the camera. The people that own the camp said this one would probably air in Aug. We are camping and riding there May 2-3. Frog and Shirley are going, too. Sorry, rotated it but didn't stick.

The saga of a grey horse -

We'll know more after we go to the camp-out. They have clinics and venders and alot of activities, too. Should be fun.

Wow, that's drastic. Mine can change if that one did. I hope he is gray. His daddy is really beautiful. Was a big $$$$$ winner in western/QHA showing. The buckskin I have has the same daddy.

That baby is so cute :) Momma is a nice horse too, likewise the buckskin. I sure wish mine had foaled this weekend. I’m not looking forward to waking up every hour to check the cameras and still trying to work tomorrow.

She’s white now with black spots on the rump. She didn’t grey as fast as her momma but she will get there I imagine.
