FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread! - Thread 12

Posted on 08/07/2007 7:33:14 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - (very out of date) Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)

I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

I’ve been reading about 2J’s trials and tribulations with the BP over on HH and I can’t believe her doctor made HER take a drug test. If anybody’s ever NOT going to be on drugs it’s going to be 2J!

You know tho, that’s just the way everyone is now a days. I’ve had several incidents lately like that...over the RV, the horse, Walmart even, saying they will call then they never do....my accountant.

And not that it’s a big deal, but I’ve been a bit surprised by the men who told me they would come clean up the branches in my yard...several of them, and they’ve never mentioned it again. It’s not that I needed them to do it, I’m not helpless, and I do have my kids that are willing to help me do anything I need. I just don’t get why people say they will do something, especially something like then and then not even apologize for that. Heck at the funeral, my son-in-law had a boss from where he works tell him they were going to get him a better job, and the very next week changed his story....

LOL...helps me to understand why psychiatrist say grieving people go thru an angry stage:)....reality, it has nothing to do with the fact someone died, it has to do with the idiots around them:)

Maybe they think saying something nice is almost as good as actually doing it.

You know, I think you really hit the nail on the head with that one. You've heard the old saying, "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions", well I guess that's really true.

'Specially since there'd be fire involved. Hair's a pyromaniac.

Speaking of follow-through, on a serious note... 2J’s still sitting on that money... and we just need to decide how to give it. Would you like a gift card to the store you want to shop at, or a check, or cold hard cash? And would you want it now, soon as she can do it? Are you ready for it?

If no one has a problem with this, I think cash would be the best thing right now, because, I’m not sure what store I will buy the rug at, or when. If she wrote me a check it may take awhile for it to clear which messes up checkbook balancing. I’ve been looking at different places and just haven’t make up my mind yet. Altho I do know I do want a rug since everyone is OK with that.

I promise I will use none of it for anything but the rug, and if there is some left over, I want to buy some type of miniature tree in a pot.

I think that’s fine... and once given, it’s up to you how to spend it.

I’ll ping her again so hopefully she sees this and can do it when she’s out and about :~)
