This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
I want to get a step up for the bed too. It irritates me that I’m not tall enough to look in without climbing on the hitch.
Hi. What kind of nursing do I do? That’s a good question lol. I gave up hospital security last year and went to work for myself. I do health care teaching, consulant work for an adult day care and nusing home and chart reviews for a medical review company. I also work prn at a Rehab hospital. I get a lot of little checks but they add up and I’m loving being my own boss and setting my own schedule.
Yeah, those things are a bit much. BladeRider's truck came with exhaust something like that when they bought it and she's having them taken off. I sure was glad we decided to take my truck when we went to visit Becky or we both would've been deaf by the time we got there.
Congratulations on the Walmart job. It sounds like fun and you will get first heads up on all the sales:’)
I started to get one of these...
They mount in the hitch. The only thing about them is that if you've got the tailgate down, you can't use it.
Those little pull-out step thingies that you can get in the tailgates of the new Ford trucks are kinda cool, but dang they were an expensive option!
I would love to get into reviewing or consulting I could do on the computer at home on my own time. I own my own office, but still have to have set hrs. & be away from home. I’m not ready to give up a paycheck, but have other things I would rather do with my pretty days. Sometimes staffing can be a headache, too.
You might not be scheduled but if you can agree to at least 24 hours a week I can link you a company that is begging for reviewers. I don’t get a lot of field work but I get a lot of remote work that I do at night.
That’s what I’d rather do. Something I can do at home. I can probably work that much in if it’s something I know how to do. I’d like the link, thank’s.
I sent it to your mail box. There is one program that goes all year and another that is seasonable from March thru May. I just did an onsite for the first time in about a year last week. I do pretty much get all the remote work that I want though. This is the company that wanted to send me to NYC, all expenses paid awhile back. I was chicken though:’)
I was browsing over on the HF...so, are you a mod now? :)
Becky
Not yet, but I think I’m being considered by the powers that be :~)
I’ve always said no when it was suggested before. I like to debate and thought it would get in the way. But they offer a discount at Country Supply for doing it. 10% over cost and free shipping. I decided that would be a pretty cool perk!
Good morning :~)
Good morning.
Well, if you’re being considered, you’ll probably get it. Not that the moderating over there is not good, but I’ve felt at times it was a bit heavy. I’ve been on threads that were moderated when, IMO, the discussion was yes heated, but not out of line. I always figured it was the younger members who may have complained. I think you’d be good at it, and be better at seeing a heated discussion for what it was vs. an insulting discussion.
The discount would be a nice perk:) Good luck.

Well, I got another e-mail from the guy in TX I told y’all about who e-mailed me before about Goose, so I tried again to call him. This time I got an answering machine, so I left a message with my office number, and believe it or not, he called me back after about 5 minutes. So we talked and it turns out that he and his wife are kind of making a horse-looking loop over this way over the weekend and he is coming to see Goose at the trainer’s on Saturday.
I plan on meeting them on the road somewhere and letting them follow me up there. They know that he’s only been there a week but apparently if they want him they’ll come back and get him when they’ve finished looking at 2 other horses. So I don’t know how it’ll work out, but now I’m nervous as a cat. :-/
I hope I’d be good at it!
I’m certainly around there more than the mods they have now :~\ For good or ill.
Pinging Becky to post 6213 too...
Goodness! Would they just pick him up right then and there then? You really want to sell him?
Well, I’d say you don’t have anything to be nervous about...your horses are great, and the trainer has always sounded to me to be top notch.
Good luck:) (Sure hoping you have something left when I get ready to come:)
Becky
Well, it may be a day or two after they look at him that they make a decision, since they’re looking at other horses in the area too.
I’m just really undecided about what to do. I know I need to sell some horses because I’ve got way more than I can possibly ride, but I just HATE selling them. I’m half-way tempted to call him back this evening lie and say that the horse is sold, or that my husband wants to keep him. And that’s really stupid on my part.
Did Cathy have a good time riding Sat? She didn’t really seem as “green” as she said she was. She handled going off the trail without a hitch.
Well, I hope you come to a decision you feel good about. I can’t really help with that... Remember, I have this pony....
