This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Home canned pickles??? Yummmmm
It is still raining here...alot. But suppose to end tomorrow.
I just got back from the grocery store too. It’s a chore I hate. I guess I will cook supper the haul our plates to town, Mack stayed in town to work some more. I like sitting down there on rainy days tho and watch it rain from the building.
I swear, I can see the grass turning green again, and growing as I sit here:)
So who called Tiff??? :)
Becky
Her point was that it's actually mostly stopped now, my point was that it still rained all night, and unless it really started heating up quick, the woods would be muddy and wet.
Ah well, I told her I was sorry for being a fair weather friend. ;~)
The new grass we planted under the old high lines is coming up and loving this rain. So are these odd little mushrooms ;~) I crawled in there and picked them all up... but more will come, prolly. They have no stems... They're just a little ball that feels like a dumpling or something. They get big then pop.
LOL - kosher dills, jars of cucumbers, jars of yellow squash and jars of zucchini. Had company today while I was putting them up though and got distracted. I’ve got two jars that didn’t seal, must have gotten a dill seed under the lid or something.
I hate grocery shopping, well shopping period. And Bob has now decided that I need his assistance (which is really sweet) and it takes me twice as long to get done.
They look like some kind of fungus - wierd.
I hope they do keep you updated about Bodie. I always feel better knowing how my horses are doing when they go to a new home. A lady called about BamBam this morning, she wants to come out and look at her - I have no idea if she will actually come or not but it would be nice to sell her.
I sent an email to Cyn’s owners, and she never replied back. I was surprised that she didn’t seem to want updates, since she raised her. We’ve never heard nor seen her again.
LOL:)...Tiff sounds like I USE to be:). I wouldn’t ride either, I may not ride tomorrow with as much rain as we have had today:).
Your grass looks nice. I’m hoping this rain helps mine out in the pasture spread.

Mack usually goes with me too. He has since we’ve been married. I like for him to go at least periodically, because if he hasn’t been for a while, he doesn’t understand why I spend so much..
Grocery prices are just outrageous anymore. We spend an average of $120 a week just for the two of us.
Becky
Out of sight, out of mind.

I saw that it was raining up there. We haven’t gotten much.
Home canned dill pickles are just this side of heaven.
My mother in law used to can squash and new potatoes. Shame she doesn’t do it anymore, they were soooo good.
I’d rather go to the dentist than the grocery store.
Yeah, we are getting alot. It still is raining, and has rained the biggest part of the day.
I’m rather glad...things were getting dry again.
Becky
LOL...I wouldn’t go that far. I can at least get thru the grocery store without fainting or crying:)
Becky
Yes, in fact, it just came back on, after being out all day. Nice rainy day, would have been good for "fraggin" I called them twice today. My neighbor was out too, so it is on the road somewhere.
Kids came back from the show all cold and wet. Alison placed in all her classes, but they were not too happy with the judge. She stood in the grandstand all day, not wanting to get wet. Same story as last time. The judges get in a big hurry and don't care who they place.
I spent $184 today but I’m really very lucky. The groceries I bought should last for about a month, although I’ll have to get milk. We are so fortunate to have good friends who hunt - well, he is a guide for hunters also. Anyway, my freezers stay pretty stocked with game. Since Bob is diabetic, the snacks and desserts are very limited, almost non existant most of the time. I also have a grocery outlet near where I buy most of the groceries and canned goods.
I gripe about canning and freezing but I sure do appreciate it when winter comes. And if I didn't put up the dill pickles, my son would disown me.
