This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)

I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

Good Morning.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Mine was very uneventful. Spent the whole weekend feeling sorry for myself and this sore mouth. The dentist put me on antibiotics and I have been taking Tylenol every 3 hours. I wanted to leave today, but am not ready. I was just too sore. Never having a filling hurt this much, I called them again this morning and they said being it was so deep, it would be sore for a while. Looks like I have to ride it out.

Hey..I am leaving tomorrow morning. I70 W to St. Louis then picking up I44 W to Joplin, MO. I44 will take me towards Tulsa. How far from Tulsa are you?

It is better today and I am leaving tomorrow morning, around 8 AM. I like to plan the drives though big cities, on off hours. I was going to stop in Columbus for QH Congress, but I might hit that on the way back.

MT, if it makes you feel any better, I’m always sore for a while too after a filling. One thing you might want to check out is to see if they got the bite right after filling your tooth. (is it a molar?) Once I had a problem where they didn’t get my bite right after filling a molar, and it hurt like heck until I went back and they fixed it. The last time I was at the dentist I had him replace an old filling, and I was sensitive to cold food for a while. Really worried me, but it went away.

That was my concern that it has been hurting for so long. They filled two molars and they checked the bite. She said it was pretty deep and that is why the pain. It is feeling much better today. A rice sock make it feel a lot better also.

I don’t really know in miles, but when you hit Tulsa, on 144, you’ve got about 45 minutes to Bixby. Stay on I44 WEST and watch for the 169 exit (there is a “y” a little ways after you get off the turnpike, but there are no signs that say to 169, but you will stay to the left, I44 west, I think the signs say to Sapulpa, or to downtown Tulsa, You DO NOT want to go to downtown Tulsa, go the other way)... Stay on I44 west till you get on 169 south, and stay on it till you get to the Memorial exit, it’s quit a ways to that exit. At the Memorial exit you will take a left, and continue on Memorial

Watch for when you cross the river, the second light you come to will be 151st...at that point you have 2 miles to go, to where the road will “Y”. In the triangle of the “Y” is a Shell station. That’s where I will will meet you, and that’s about 8 miles from my house. Call me when you exit off 169. We’ll get to the meet spot about the same time.

Did I send you Mack’s cell phone #? I just want everyone to have that too, in case you can’t reach me....

So you are leaving tomorrow...are you still planning on not getting here till Wed.? I just need to know which day, and as you get closer to us approx. time so I can be here to get the call. That’s why I want you to have Mack’s cell # too. In case you’d get in earlier then expected. He can always be reached.

Yeah, I’m working through Wednesday. I may take off half a day on Wednesday though coz I got a ton of stuff to do. I decided to bring little Miss Ellie with us so y’all can try her out so my husband and I worked all day yesterday on sanding my old 3-horse slant so I can give it a spit-coat of rustoleum today. It would’ve been fine like it was, but it just looked so bad that I HAD to do it. I guess I’m a little obsessive about stuff like that.

I was wondering about that coz when I watched the radar on the news this morning it looked like y’all had had some pretty good ones. There’s a chance of scattered rain here tomorrow and about a 40% chance on Wednesday and Thursday. So chances are we’ll end up driving at least part of the way in the rain to get there. But that’s ok as long as it doesn’t rain the whole time we’re there.

I was gonna buy enough to bring with me, then it occurred to me you might show up there only to find out they’re a lot cheaper there than here!

Yes, you gave me his phone number. If I get there Weds. it will probably be late. I will call you tomorrow night and let you know how far I made it. I stop alot and won't go over the speed limit, especially if it is raining. It seems to me I made it to Sullivan, MO the last time I went to Tulsa, leaving from home, on the first day.

I better get off this PC and get my chores done. I wanted to wash my truck, but it looks like rain.
