Sounds like a great itinerary! :~)
I am so looking forward to it:) It’s coming fast, but then not fast enough:)
Today a friend and I ran to ARk. to be some decent beer:), that’s were I’ve been this morning. Tomorrow I’ve got one more day at Jenny’s shop, then the rest of the week I will be home getting things ready:)
Becky
Sounds like fun! We’ll be looking forward to it!
Is this the friend?
I’m going to call my vet on Tues. or Wed of that week to make sure she remembers to watch for a call from me just in case. I’m sure your horses will be fine.
Hasn’t Blade rider hauled that far before? I would think coming that far you will have to stop and unload them a few times??? I hope it isn’t too much of a stressor for you.
Becky
ROFLOL!
Well my friend and I thought it was pretty funny, us two old women making a beer run:)
They guy at the liquor store said 60% of his beer business is people from OK. So that made me feel not quit so embarrassed about the amount I was walking out with:)
Becky
Why did you go to AR for a beer run? Do you folks have blue laws?
What’s blue laws???
In OK. the beer you buy in the grocery stores is all 3.2. In the liquor store you can buy 6. but not in the name brands, like Bud, Coors, etc.
Ok has weird liquor laws as far as beer is concerned. 3.2 beer is horrible.
Becky
Blue laws are laws that say you can’t sell liquor on Sundays. But then I remembered that it was Monday. Whoops. MA had them up until a couple of years ago.
Ok now I have a question for you. What’s 3.2 beer? *scratches head*
That’s the alcohol content. I think there are only a few states, Ok, Ka. and Co. that carry it. You can’t buy 6. except in the liquor stores, and for some reason OK doesn’t carry the name brands in anything but 3.2.
Becky
Thanks.
I thought it might be hot and flat based on the movie Friday Night Lights.
Maybe that’s the reason why land is so cheap. And also probably the reason why the pay rate is so high. (about $140/hr)
Sounds great! I copied the schedule down this time.
Land is extremely cheap out there. You can get 500 acres for what 2 would cost here in the DFW metroplex.
One other thing, I recommend learning spanish because you will be the only english speaking person within 200 miles.
Good morning, goodness what were you doing up at 4 in the morning:)
Well, I’m hoping my plans are enough, but not too much:).

I took some leftover tack and the hamster to the auction yesterday. They do not take household goods, because it is a livestock sale. The tack did ok, but the hamster only brought $3. Cage and all. I could have bought 5 baby calves for $25! No thanks. A few boxes of stuff went to the Salvation Army and I will have to call them for the big stuff.
Still hot here and no rain.
Sounds like a lot of fun. Please don’t buy a lot of food. I am sure we can all chip in for groceries.
I couldn’t sleep. Hmph. I hate it when that happens.
I know what you mean:), the excitement of everyone coming is waking me up at night:)
Becky
Look at this radar image. That big spiral storm out there was supposed to bring rain and the possibility of damaging winds (more so for Oregon than here, but still), and the radar certainly ~looks~ like it's raining here, but it isn't. It hasn't rained all day. No wind.
Doesn't it look to you like it's certainly raining here?
Bone dry horses just now. (I closed them out so I could clean stalls and they didn't like that one bit...) I said "Look. It's about to get really nasty here, and then you can come in. Go exercise, go graze, go move around a bit!" They've become very barn bound lately, even when it's nice.
