This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
I guess... The more I think about it there probably is a market for people like that, for people who don’t have time to get the horse in good shape to be sold, that’s why they want to sell. I just thought it interesting that she felt skilled enough to advertise herself as a trainer, but would reject horses who had behavior issues.
Well, there’s a difference in sharpening up the skills of a basically good horse as opposed to trying to break the long-set bad habits in another one. Even the trainer that I use, as good as he is, won’t do that. It’s too dangerous and if you got hurt, what little money there might be in it would definately not be worth it. I could probably handle the former, but wouldn’t even try to attempt the latter either.
I’ve often wished I could hire somebody to ride all mine several times a week, just so they would stay in decent enough shape to handle the kind of riding that I like to do, but alas, I’m not made of money. It sure would be nice if I could find some kid who just wanted to ride and would do it for free, but I don’t think they make kids like that anymore, or their parents would sue you into the stoneage if anything happened to them, or something like that. :-/
I've wished the same kind of kid would show up here lots of times.
Oh I am sure there will be a lot of non-gaited there. That little Miss Ellie would suit me just fine. Maybe you ought to haul her out to OK, for me to try out. :)
Hey, I thought about that, but I didn’t wanna push you or anything. I’d love for you to have her.
Sounds like a great idea to me:)
Well, I think I’ve got my RV ready, except for clothes and fridge food. The RV fridge takes overnight to get cold enough.
OOP’s just remembered, I have to go fill the water tank.

I called the ride organizer and she said they were not expecting a really big crowd. She is planning something different, with a more of ride on your own. So, I will have to comb the campground, looking for my type of people to ride with. (the slow easy, only a few hours type) It is pretty cool, that all the meals are provided. Packing was super easy.
I am heading out early tomorrow morning, so I can be sure of a good spot and to beat the Crazy Friday traffic.
You all have a great weekend!
You have a great time:)
I can’t wait to get out of here tomorrow. It will be a bit after lunch when we go. We are going to fish, lounge, and I’m eating Oreo’s:)
Becky
You have a wonderful, relaxing weekend too!
So I could dig more, it's the hauling. Too bad I can't get one of these animals to haul it. Tell me, why I am in front of the cart and the horse is behind?
Anywho... here it is. I intentionally sloped it up to Bay's doorway into the barn on the end there, because I wanted to be able to easily roll the cart in and out of the barn and out to the back forty to dump it. I didn't want the big step there. So that came out good.
As you can see, some of the OSB on the wall by the middle outside doorway is ~gone~, and it's built up outside as high as it was inside. Well... that, and a drainage ditch away is a job for later... maybe this weekend. The OSB can be patched. The posts and those bottom boards are treated and are in good shape, so that's good.
Gawd..... D@amn.... mares!
You look like an angel
Walk like an angel
Talk like an angel
But I got wise
You're the devil in disguise
Oh yes you are
The devil in disguise
Happy Anniversary :)
Ahh - no, she’s just marking her spot :)
Happy Anniversary, Becky! I missed that post completely!
Well I’m proud that you got it finished. I know it was a tough job. I’m waiting until the weather cools off a bit more to do the mare’s barn again. I didn’t wanna get down there and have a heat stroke or something. And it is really aggrivating that as soon as you get it done, and sometimes before, they’re right back in there messing it all up again. Why can’t they just go OUTSIDE!? ~:-/
Happy Anniversary!!
So what are y’all taking to cook? Anything good, like ribs or steaks, or are you just going low-maintenance, like hot dogs and burgers?
Thanks everyone:)
Hair the barn looks great...Cyn reminds me of Harley, comes in to go...so aggravating. I’ve seen him come in 2 seconds after I’ve mucked his stall and poop or pee.
Frog, pretty low maintance on food, one night we will have burgers, one night bar b que chicken....sandwiches for lunch...breakfast burritos for breakfast...and Oreo’s:)...and a beer or two.

That back corner where stuff is piled is an almost full size bed, they told us it was full size, but I think it's a small full size. Sheets don't pull tight on it. But it'scomfortable. The big wood brown doors is the fridge and freezer.
The bathroom is in the other half from the full size bed. Sink, toilet, tub. The other side of the "kitchen."
Living/dining room. That is a queen size bed over the drivers seats, and the couch makes another almost full size bed. The driver and passenger seats can swivel around to face the room. The table is removable. And then Susie the "already afraid she is going to be left, so she's not coming out" dog:)"

Our power was out this morning from 4 am till about 7. I think this was why. Something big hit that pole.
