Well, I’ve made this mess slowly over the years, and it’s been this looming problem that seemed overwhelming to dig out. But now that it’s started, it’s really pretty rewarding. It’s going to be a LOT better.
The smell doesn’t seem to be bothering her:)
Becky
Not at all :~)
Ya gotta love that Pony!
Yeah, I gotta :~)
I like the ads, if you can supplement the photos, some of Ellie on your trail rides, either at the rocks, rivers or bridges would sell her to me!
Well, AgDirect is good in that the ad is only $10 for one year and the first picture is free, but each additional one is another $10, so I figured I could send somebody more pictures via e-mail if they were interested. I even thought about setting up some of her pictures in a separate photobucket sub-album and adding the web address to the ad, but I don’t know if they’d allow it or not. I guess I could try.
Bay checks it out...
Heh... that’s pretty cool :~)
Ever have kids sneakin’ off behind your house?
Probably, but the softball fields are back there so it’s pretty wide open and not much of a place to hide out. About the worst they do is get in the gravel parking lot back there and cut donuts with their cars. Kids!
It is about a foot thick. Six years of piling more bedding on top instead of stripping it like I shoulda. That’s the level it was at when I moved in.
Like I said, it’s an embarrassment. And it’s why I don’t like dirt floors. I want mats on it! And no bedding out there. It should just be a clean dry entry to the rest of the barn.
Hey, you were talking earlier about possibly getting somebody to come with some kind of machinery and cleaning out the area outside the barn. Have you ever looked into renting a little bobcat for half a day and doing it yourself? If you know somebody who has a small flat-bed trailer you could go pick it up, or they would probably rent you the trailer too. I bet it’d be fun, after you kinda got the hang of driving it for a few minutes, and it’d probably be cheaper than having somebody come do it, plus, if you got done quick enough you could use it for any other stuff that you had laying around. Just a thought.
But don’t they like to lounge around out there too? Not having any bedding out there would kinda discourage that. But it guess it would discourage the peeing that the mares do to so there’s that.
Yeah - they lounge around out there too. They can lounge on the mats or in the barn. :~)
I dunno. Right now I just want it to be sanitary.
I have looked at the little bobcats for rent at home depot. I wondered if we’d spend half the day just figuring out how to work it. You think we’d do better?
Well, you’d definately get it done the way YOU wanted it done that way. I don’t know how hard they are to operate coz I’ve never driven one of those, but they can’t be all that much harder than a tractor with a front end loader. I picked that up in about 5 minutes and had never driven one before in my life. Becky’s got one, maybe she could give you some pointers. You would think that they’d have some kind of instruction at the rental place.
You would think there would be a break-away release on those things , in case a ride went bad.
It smells like a scam to me with the Juno address, so I’d proceed with caution. I wouldn’t give a number, personally.
