This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Oh - prayers indeed for Rocky in transit.
You have snow there???
Hey, I just found out that you CAN make a reply reference back to the original post, you just use the “Quote” button. Then when your reply shows up, you can click the little button next to the quoted text and it takes you back to the post you quoted from. COOL!
You need to create an album on the forum and upload pics to that to get them to show up full size, or use Photobucket HTML code inside [img] [/img] tags.
Oh cool! See... I didn’t know that! I’m still learning all the ins and outs of the software myself. If that’s true, then the the QR (Quick Reply) button on each post should also send a reference to that post. I just haven’t played around with that.
Thanks, I’ll do that this weekend then. I do have albums in Photobucket too.
Well, snow falling when I drove in this morning. Then snow on the hill tops, now none but calling for more tonight.
Hair and Ecurb, congrats on the new forum, very nice. I have not registered there yet, as we have been very busy here.
The weather has been super, warm and sunny. A lot has gotten done on the front yard. We put in a brick walk and I made a brick wall with the left overs, for an edge around the one bed. What a trip that was hauling those bricks, sand and gravel. We hauled in my horse trailer and I thought the tires were going to blow. They were really ballooning out. We took it slow and made it ok.
Here is the progress. Probably, not the best laying of pavers, but it will do. Alison and I painted the porch today and we put in some scrubs the other day. No one seems to have mulch here anymore, so that will have to wait until spring. I just hope the grass seed I planted comes up.
Here is Alison's accomplishments for this year. We hauled them all out to the yard for a "photo op" :) When she shows at the AQHA shows, they do not give ribbons or trophies...just points, or she would have had a lot more. And yes, that is a baby doll she won! Quite a year for the kid and we are so proud of her and "PJ".
Wow... look at that kid go :)
Nice walkway, I like it! We’d never get grass to germinate now, we had a frost last night ;\
Wow, look at all that blue! And what wasn’t blue was red, so looks like she got either 1st or 2nd most if not all of the time. That’s impressive! Congratulations to Alison and her proud Grandma!
Oh, and I forgot to say that the walkway look great and it looks like a fine job of laying pavers to me. It’ll look really nice with the shrubs in there next spring when the grass comes up.
It very nice again today. Looks like a good day to take it easy and go to the park for a picnic or walk. We need a day off.
I hope you have a great ride and the weather is great!
Pinging you guys to some trail pictures...
Terrific! Is that Bob or one of the girls? I have a hard time telling all of yours apart when I see them separate.
Is it just steep or is he/she balking or both in pic 4? Looks like you’re sittin’ down. :)
In the 4th picture, Bob wasn't wanting to go in the water by himself and I was insisting and he backed up into the bank and sat down and Elizabeth just happened to catch it. It was pretty funny. I told him that's what happens when you don't do what I tell you to. He did go on in after that so it all worked out ok in the end.
Ah - Hi Bob!, and Hope!...
Heh... yeah I could tell he was balking but I couldn’t see from the bushes if he was actually sitting on the or not. ;~)
Looks like fun:)
It was 77o here and would have been a perfect day to ride, but we didnt. The State park(with horse trails) has still so much slag in the parking area, that they have not spread, that you cant get a trailer in. Its close to home and would have been fun.
Instead, Alison and I went for a walk at the beach/marina area. We took my dog and went on a short trail. She played on the swings for a bit too. Then we went for corn stalks and stopped for ice cream. It was a great day to not do any work and have some fun.
Boy, you have every right to be proud of Alison. What an amazing year :)
That is a beautiful pathway. Someday I’d like to have that done here.
What gorgeous pictures - as always. Poor horse, he probably thought there were snakes in there. You all have 70’s and sunshine, I’ve got cold and snow. Somehow, that’s not quite fair :)
