This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Nope, not me. I just get a 1 inch red rectangle. It’s a pretty red, though.
It doesn’t post... it’s a red square.
email the pic to me.
Hello,
I noticed Sunday that the tent used during the Pumpkin Patch has been set up, and pumpkins are arriving there....has it really been almost a year since you all were here???
And on another related item, Jo, the newspaper lady told me yesterday that she is entering her article about you all’s visit here in an OK Journalist Contest.
I remember why now. It’s a Snapfish pic. E-mail’s on the way.
Yeah, we were really getting all charged up about the trip this time last year. Dang that was fun! We gotta do it again sometime. Maybe next Fall. Hopefully by then I’ll have a house built and you’ll have a new appartment in town.
That’s cool about Jo’s article. I hope she wins something with it. She’s a nice lady.
At least we did get a nice ride one day and I did get to meet you all. :)
Oh - other camper news...
We ran some water through it and both the greywater and blackwater are set up to just run out onto the ground. We won’t be using the toilet anyway. We’ll just hoof it into the house during a lull. But it’s nice to have the sink drain to wash hands and whatnot. That can just run out on the ground.
Tomorrow we’ll fence around it so the horses can’t mess with it and run the power cord out there.
Lori died today. She’s the friend who needed the kidney transplant and that you all were praying for last spring.
I posted a thread here but the pictures don’t show up.

You just have to post the pictures in a reply. They don’t work in the original post with the way the forum is working.
I am so very sorry for the loss of your friend. I am looking forward to the pictures.
Thank you. I reposted one of the pictures there, don’t know yet if it showed up.
She’s healthy now and can ride to her heart’s content. It’s hard for all of us left but I’m so glad that now she can do whatever she wants with no limitations.
Yes, that worked.
Boy you’ve got it fixed up nicely. The dogs are all at home it looks like. Hope you get to stay in it tonight to try it out.
Hey, the camper looks great! Nice and Comfey. It’ll be much nicer than sitting in a cold truck half the night. So are you going to take all the dogs and all the cats out there during a storm?
I’m so sorry to hear about Lori. I know you’ll miss her. It sounded like they did everything they could for her but I guess God wanted her home with him more. It’s so nice to know that He provides a place for us, away from all the suffering of this world, where we can be healthy and happy with Him forever, and that we’ll see all our loved ones again there when our name is finally called to come home.
Dogs yes, cats, probably not, but we’ll see. The cats we’ve left in the house before. They’re harder to move, and I think their instincts for staying out of the way of falling things is pretty good.
But Pippin sure likes it in there, he’s been hanging out in there while I worked on it the whole past week. :~)
Today we need to build a little fence around it so the horses can be turned back out there.
Our group before we headed out. That's HaveFaith on Sassy and BladeRider on Daisy. Blade threw a shoe 2 weeks ago and the farrier has yet to show or call so she had to borrow a horse. Needless to say, she was not pleased with him.
The friends we were meeting...
General crowd shot before leaving...
I loved this lady's loud colored mule and "mini-me" donkey...
At a break...
Just out on the trail...
The lunch break...
The weather was great and we had a great time. Wish y'all could've been here!
Those sure are some flashy mounts those old gents have. :~)
Sorry to hear Blade was out of commission, but it looks like you found a pretty stand-in!
Good to see you guys riding. We're having some nice indian summer weather, maybe we'll get out again a time or two yet this fall, we'll see.
Thank you.
so - Lori’s mom has asked me to try and get her horses sold. Both registered half arabs, both experienced endurance horses, both mares, one is about 9yrs old and one about 13yrs old. I know nothing about half arabs. I thought I’d price the 13yr old bay at $2500 and the 9yr old buckskin at $5000. So what do you think?
I’ve emailed several of the arab people I know and a couple of clubs with the information. I thought I might email the AERC and see if there is a place there that I might advertise them.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Boy Hair is right. You all sure believe in flash :) There’s not one run of the mill, so-so, equine in the bunch. It must be spectacular watching that many of you going down the trail.
