This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
I sprayed a lot of WD 40 on it last night. If we can't get out from under it this morning I think we'll just pull the pin on the hitch and drive out from under it. I've got to got get Wicket this morning at the vets and I'm not towing that thing over there or out of this driveway again!
Lots of extra dirt for the backyard on a low spot. The contractor will be filling the "moat" with gravel and dirt on top. With the clay soil, the gravel will make the water drain better. He has already leveled this out, but I didnt get a picture yet.
Dogs are having a great time checking the trailer out. New home Kids!
Bay called to it when we got home too. He thought there might be horses in it. :~)
Geeze... big digging project indeed. I hope our drain field guy shows up today and can break through the woods to get where he needs to be. There’s a lot of storm down trees back there that are in his way.
Oh I won't give them the chance... we'll fence around it. To keep the horses away, and to be able to contain the dogs when we're out there so they can potty and what-not. It will have it's own little yard. :~)
Well, I think they’ve up their security settings on our server again, because I used to could GET to Photobucket from here to upload stuff and I can’t do that anymore either. But I can see the pics you upload to the HGS site, so there’s that.
About the hitch, some “penetrating oil” might cut through the rust if nothing else works, but I’m pretty sure you can work it loose with a screwdriver from the bottom. Whacking on it with a hammer works pretty well too. That way if it doesn’t come loose you at least get to work your frustrations out on it. ;o) Just make sure you’ve got the truck straight in line with the hitch, and sometimes jumpimg up and down on the back bumper will wiggle it loose. But that’s about the extent of my experience with stubborn trailer hitches. I guess it’s better that it won’t come off the ball than that it won’t stay on it.
Oh we jumped on it quite a bit already. It’s not straight, the truck is turned about 20 degrees, I think that’s part of the problem. I think if we just disconnect the hitch from the truck for now, and can freely move it, we’ll hopefully free it.
Then hopefully we can get it back on for one more pull. :~)
Hair, trailer looks good. Somebody took great care of it. Can't wait till I see pics of it fixed up. Have you seen the articles of the retired women that have the little teardrop ones with vintage paint jobs on them? They are precious. One is Betty Boop. The insides are original vintage looking also. They travel in a group and go camping in them.
Here is our latest project. We actually started it 2 yrs. ago with just the 2 posts and a swing. The roof was added yesterday and today. Those posts are not easy to find.
Hopefully, I can get my wisteria to finish growing up the posts. Monday the guy is to be back to extend the house roof out to the edge of the back patio. More SHADE! We were not lucky enough to find land with an old home site and BIG trees.
We took Aiden to Jimmy's and let him ride in a real mule pulled wagon. The whole club is gone on a week long ride this week. We caught them before they left Sunday and let him ride. He fed the mules apples.
Just re-read and saw the part about the basement. Nevermind!
Any video game jockeys?
I’ve been playing a lot of Gallop Racer 2001 for the PS2, you race and breed horses. Lots of fun. There’s an english version of G1 Jockey coming out for the PS3 in 2 days. The PS3 is region free so it will play on any PS3.
Link to G1 Jockey 4 2008 for the PS3.

I haven’t played those!
I’ve played a few show jumping games on the internet, but I wasn’t very good at it, I kept running by or plowing right through all the fences. :~)
There is Gallop Racer 2001, 2003, 2004, and 2006, and G1 Jockey 3 for the PS2, they are all pretty popular with the Horse Racing Set. 01,04, and 06 and the G1 game are the most popular.
There is a new online game that is popular called Starters Orders 3 for PC, I have a mac though.
There is a discussion board about all these things at the Online Racing League if you’re interested.

PC games, are what I play, but we do have a PS3....looks like fun!
Aw cute little mules.
We had a lot of fun. Won a little in the casino, lost some on the ponies. They have a great buffet and we pig out on that. It was nice to get away for a day.
Alison's last show is this weekend. It is a weekend AQHA show and they are taking my trailer. The summer sure went fast.
Yes, and I also saw in the pricing of those old vintage campers that there is a following that will pay high prices for them, unrestored or not!
This one is in really nice shape for it's age. Very clean, really.
I love your gazebo shady place, it will be beautiful with the wisteria even if it hides those fancy posts!
I couldn’t see any of my pings until just now. I don’t know what the deal was with that, but I’m glad it’s back.
That was probably all part of the devious plot. :~)
I’ll prolly start a new thread here in the next day or two... It is too long. I’d do it this morning, but I have to look for a good picture first... if any of you have a good one in mind for us to start off with, repost it!
