This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share, usually about our horses, sometimes about our dogs, gardens and other stuff we do. :~)
I have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will ping everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
There were 12 of us. Shirley, Waterhead, Orbin, Dayton, Don G., Jimmy C., John, Sammy, Lanier, Sodie, and us. Trails were a mixture of paved roads, rock/dirt roads, a little woods and some pastures and around alot of deer game plots. We rode 3 hrs. in the am and came back to Dayton’s hunting lodge and his and Orbin’s wife had us a big lunch of grilled burgers, hot dogs, baked beans, chips, and homemade blackberry cobbler. Then we dragged our packed belly bodies back up on our horses and rode 3 more hours. I’ve got a few pics, but not had time to even look at them. Not any posed of the whole group though. It was fun. I was aching and tired and went to bed at 9pm.
Dang! That’s a lot of riding! Reminds me of when I used to do a little field trialing, but that was years ago, and in the wintertime. Wasn’t it kinda hot, being out in the open so much? Who’d you ride?
Nah, it was kinda cloudy. I rode Daisy & Hal rode Spec. Daisy was wonderful. Hal tried to tie his head down and he reared once when he tried to make him go over 2 logs together. Should have left him alone.
This is a close-up of the side with the venting detail. Awsome.
Pics of the guys and watering hole.
Daisy and me-just to prove we were there
Another old barn-right in a curve on the side of the road. Very cool in person.
Daisy and me
Well shoot! Now I can’t see YOUR pictures. Have to check ‘em out when I get home I guess. :-p
Good morning. Great pictures:)
Kristy took Harley to another barrel race, and he won 1st place in the 2nd division of a 4D.
Other then that, nothing much to report. I’m going back to the house later to clean up the RV to be ready to go this weekend, then the girls and I are going shopping for the groceries.
Good morning! Great ride pictures indeed, neat old farms and scenery!
Yesterday I got all the tables set up for our yard sale, today I’m going to set out the stuff that can be set out early... Yard sale Sat.
That’s great about Harley’s wins! He ought to really start to generate some interest if he keeps winning like that.
Have fun this weekend!
Cool! That DOES look like a neat place to ride. They just don’t make barns like that anymore.
Miss Dandie is a very nice looking horse :)
The bottom picture of them curled up sleeping is precious. I’m glad that hurtle is over for them (and you.)
What a cool old barn. That venting is really intreging, do you suppose it works?
Have fun this weekend. I think Harley can do anything you ask him to :) Yes, that should help selling him.
Here's a winter view across the Hoodoo valley towards the north. It was near sunset and about 10 degrees F...
Miss Dandie is our horse-daughter. It took both of us (one on each leg) to bring her into the world, ‘cause her lazy lunk of a mom, Jess wasn’t working all that hard. But it was Jess’ first foal, so I can’t complain too much. Dandie got the full imprint treatment, and she’s been totally joined up with uis ever since. She’s a pretty steady girl - went to her first show this summer and nary a twitch or a buck.
Becky you have a good weekend camping, and everyone else have fun at whatever it is you're doing :~)
So how did the yard sale go?
Pretty good! Sold a lot of stuff, made about $400, lots still left to sell today, I hope. :~)
Wow - $400 is a very good garage sell. Good luck today.
