Give them time, they’ll eat it.

I had my first experience at having to call a tow truck today, and I’m a bit confused.

I saw the guy pull in, and knew he saw the sign, he slowed down and it was obvious he was reading the sign, he parked here anyway, and went next door to eat.

I called, while I was waiting on the truck, it’s a block away, the guy showed back up and said he parked here because he didn’t have reverse....too bad. He moved it across the street.

Come to find out from next door the tow company, called the burger place and told them to ask around and find the guy whose truck it was and tell him they had been called. Why would the tow company do that???

Heh... I don’t know but that is strange behavior. How did they know he was probably at the burger place?

They know who I am, and know that a lot of people going to the burger place park in my lot. AFter the guy moved it and was walking back the tow truck did come by, but they just gave the guy a chance to get it moved.

I don’t really care, I just wanted the truck moved, but it just seems odd to me, throwing money away, IMO.

The only thing I can think is it was the good ole boy system....they know a lot of the locals park here, maybe they didn’t want to have to confront someone they knew.

That probably has a lot to do with it.

So, no new shows for Alison here lately?

Yes, she has been showing the QH cicruit...those shows are usually a couple of days long (4-5 day) and I have not been going. Someone has to stay home and mind the fort. She has a couple shows coming up this month, that are not so far away and so long, that I will go too.

She has been doing really good. Here are a few of her awards this year. They give the cups that are stacked in the back instead of ribbons, at a lot of shows. The halter on the left she won also for hi-point at one of the shows. She also won a couple of directors chairs, which are really nice.

Wow! That’s quite a haul there! Glad to hear she’s doing so well.

I imagine it is kinda hard to sit for that length of time when you’re as sore as you’ve been. Now that you’ve healed a little more hopefully you’ll be a little more comfortable the next time you go.

That IS strange about the tow truck company! You’d think they’d jump at the chance, but that’s kinda nice that they’d go to the trouble to call the burger place first. At least you didn’t have to do it and seem like the heavy, plus it gave extra weight to the call because the person would KNOW that the tow truck was on it’s way if they didn’t move. So I guess it’s kinda like you’ve a big Rotweiler on you back porch now and he barked first instead of biting. Maybe the word will get out and people will get the message that you’re serious and not try to test the limits of your patience.

The limits of my patience has been tested!

A UPS truck parked in my lot after sitting almost directly in front of the sign...Every UPS driver that comes to Bixby has had to be told repeatedly not to park here....The driver of course showed up before the tow truck did, when I caught him, he never apologized just made excuses...I called the company and am waiting for a call back.

And as we speak another car is sitting out there. The driver appears to be waiting on someone, so I have to wait to see if they will have business here or leave to go somewhere else.

I reckon UPS drivers believe that it’s ok for them to park anywhere they want to. They’ll park astride of the center line of the road around here.

Peaches, the dog and her puppies, that we took in last year, has a new home. A 13 year old boy and that will be perfect for her. The Himalayan type cat that Ben brought home last year has a new home also. A lady came and took her last night. I put an ad in the local publication and received quite a few calls. We really needed to cull the "herd" here.

It just got to be too expensive. Everyone has fleas and I spent almost $200 on flea stuff from Petmeds. The people who are taking Jody are on vacation and when they come back, she will be delivered.

Amy has some people who are interested in her Paint mare. They have a QH that they would trade for, so we are going to check her out tonight.

I understand about wanting to cull the herd, I just hardly ever can make it happen!

I thought I did pretty good at least finding homes for the kittens.

Speaking of which, the two little kittens that escaped are alive after all... I saw them the last couple of days, with their momma. So plans are in the works for catching them.

Good luck with catching the kittens, before they get too wild.

The shelters and dog pound here, just never seem to have any room for animals. Maybe they should start giving them away. I know there are expenses in running one of those, but they have fund raisers, a thrift shop and plenty of people who donate to them.

Guess I will go mow the yard, before it rains....we have had our share of that this year. There are hay fields that still have not been baled.

Good job on placing the rescues! You and Hair both are really great to do that.

For future reference, Dog.com is a good bit cheaper than Petmeds on the flea stuff. They’re part of Country Supply, just like Horse.com, and you can combine items from each catalog into one order. That’s who I order from.

And good luck on the trade of the Paint mare for the QH. Maybe this one will turn out to be something you feel comfortable riding.

So are you going to neuter and release them like their Mamas or are you going to try to tame and place them too?

I’ll try to tame them... but we’ll just see how it goes and how they do. They are still kittens. They can probably come around.

I’m setting up the crate now for them to be in, by my desk.
