:) I’m partial to longhorns too.
Hi all - I did get some good pictures I think, but we’re spent, and I’ll probably sort through them and post them tomorrow morning.
Gonna hit the couch now. - Town and fair parenting wore us out. :~)
LOL Wonder how he missed that one.
You would have loved his. He was President of the Texas Longhorn Assn. in his day. They are beautiful animals.

What an unusual and exotic looking cat. If I needed another one, I’d sure check them out :) No - I have six and sometimes seven now.
Charlie being fitted with his new hat.
Taking a little walk outside behind the barn to stretch his legs...
And then kicking back in the stall. I should have taken picture of Charlie's fleece that was being shown in the next building over. Forgot! Last year his fleece won Grand Champion at this fair. This year, she's showing his fleece and a virgin fleece from the baby alpaca she has at home.
This llama was Charlie's neighbor and had about this same expression all the time. :~)
Our other neighbors were sheep and goats.
These two were rearing up and head-butting each other.
Baaaaah!
I liked Huck... Huck was cool.
Beef cattle being shown...
Views from our little sitting area:
Zedonks.
Excuse the Zedong on the zedonk.
And finally some horses!
I was really impressed with the caliber of competitors in the horse classes. We watched a bit of Western Pleasure and this trail class. I remember watching in years past and 4H kids at this level at the fair were very much riding backyard horses and humble tack and show outfits... Not so any more! These guys were dressed to the nines, silvered and polished and their horses too. And they did good work on them. And this was the intermediate trail class, kids about 12-15.
The task was to canter up and stop along side that pole, and sidepass over to the mailbox. Nicely done.
This little haflinger sure was cute
And this little Arab was a class act... either still a stallion? (not sure if kids can show stallions in 4h) or recently so from his neck and carriage.
Toward the end of the day... back in our barn... that crowd is gathered around Charlie's stall, Jessie is in there with him talking about him.
See the one goat sticking his head up in the middle? :~)
That was our day. :~)
Wow, I have never seen a cat like that. Is that yours. He/she is beautiful.
I understand about many cats. I am down to two and have just saved my 18 year siamese. She has thyroid problems. Lost half her weight; but has gained it all back. So far so good.
Great pictures, great commentary:)!!!
Fair food is sooo good, glad you didn't get booted out...lol
I ate two hot dogs, a hamburger, some fries, and a dipped ice cream bar.
When I went to the fair, I had a sausage sandwich. Then, I took home a big bag of kettle corn, hot wings and a big cinnamon roll!
You had a busy day. I like those Zedonks :)
That’s great about your siamese. I’ve never had one last that long so you must be taking excellent care.
I don’t know about that. I do hope she stays around a long time. But 18 is 18.
Great fair pics! Looks like fun. Charlie is so cute in his little hat. Is it an optical illusion or are his eyes really blue? I like Huck too. He looks like he’s got a cool personality. The little kids butting heads was cute too. They’re so funny. I liked the zedonks too. I’ve never seen one of those before. I’ve seen zorses before but not those. Cool! They seem to have more of the white than the zorses do. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve been pretty worthless today. I headed to the barn around 7 to trim Grace and Goose before it got too hot. They hadn’t been done since a couple of weeks before I broke my ankle so they were really overgrown. I got done around 9 but sat there in front of the fan until around 10, trying to cool off. Then I headed to the house for a shower and some lunch. I collapsed on the couch after that and that’s where I’ve been ever since. It’s 97* outside with a heat index of 106 so it’s just too dang hot to do much of anything else.
I had the farrier out today - the last one and I parted company, but I think this one is a keeper. :-) Older daughter's horse had broken off part of the outside of his hoof, and he put a TW walker pad on him to give it a chance to heal.
How is the leg? I haven't scanned back to see if you had to have a cast of just a boot.
I'm going freepmail you a link to that picture when I get it up on photobucket.
I'm having trouble posting links right now. I was trying to post a link to some of our pictures online -- I don't know if it's me or FR but the links just keep disappearing.
I was telling the farrier about you guys all riding together - he has walking horses, too, and he said he gave up showing to be able to enjoy riding :-D
I don’t know what color his eyes really are.
Oh - and I was also meaning to say... there’s no shots of Jesse actually showing him because she doesn’t show till today.
