Humans are made of stardust? I thought it was monkeys. Now I’ve heard it all.
I know some people believe the Bible allows for alien life. I don’t believe so. I think it’s pretty clear the Earth is the heart of God’s creation, and the heavens exist to exult Him.
If there is extraterrestrial life--in the way the article is referring to--that life would end at the end. Such extraterrestrials, if intelligent, would not have souls. God died for Mankind, and by God becoming human Mankind was given a way to salvation (kinsman redeemer).
Gee, I think you would have burned Copernicus at the stake.
It is the absolute height of arrogance to believe that we are alone in God's vast universe.
To paraphrase, Jesus said something along the line of "My Father's house has many rooms."
The Bible, at the time, was written for people far more primitive than us. The thought of man walking on the moon would have been unthinkable in the days Our Lord walked the Earth.
I’m not going to try and dispute your belief, but there is a reference after the flood of a separate “race” of beings that the author refers to as The Sons of God. They are also referred to as the Nephilim.
I have never heard a good explanation as to what these people are or were. Aliens? Angels? (fallen or otherwise).
It adds to the mystery in my opinion.
I keep sending the Vatican a suggestion that they change “ashes to ashes, dust to dust” to “..., stardust to stardust”, but I have yet to hear back from them.
We are made of stardust. All elements heavier than hydrogen and helium were created by nucleosynthesis in the cores of stars by well-understood nuclear fusion processes. Supernova explosions scattered these elements and they eventually condensed by gravity into new stars with planets composed of the heavier elements. Our bodies are made of these heavier elements.
Furthermore, “monkeys” are not on the same evolutionary line as modern humans. They are cousins, not direct ancestors. We do share 98.5% of our DNA with chimpanzees.
I guess you skipped science class, hey?
Genesis 2:7
the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
Genesis 3:19
By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return."
Who says the dust from the ground didn't come from space?
