For your listening entertainment. LOL I've seen it as a commercial, but never dreamed it would be on CMT and GAC.

Daddy Was The Apple Of My Eye (Fruit Guys & Vince Gill)

No castle in the south of France
But what we had were underpants
That made us feel like royalty
His hands were hard, his waistbands soft,
And in his deep red apple thoughts, he said,
‘Your fruit will be of the loom, not of the tree.’
Yeah, Daddy was the apple of my eye,
Like underwear he’s with me ’til I die
And the more that I peel back the years, the more I realize
He will always be, the apple of my eye.
A father knows a young boy grows
The clothesline of life sometimes blows
Brief memories that last forevermore.
He gave to me his fearless grin
His rosy cheeks, his tender skin
A comfort that runs straight down to the core.
Yeah, Daddy was the apple of my eye,
Like underwear he’s with me ’til I die.
And the more that I peel back the years, the more I realize
In that tangled family tree, he will forever be
The shining, polished apple of my eye.

Hi, polly. Thanks for checking in. We wonder about our friends when they don’t. Did you get a storm a few days ago? I know the Watertown area did. It’s dry here and we need rain.

BTW, snagged ya with that Alton Brown post, eh? LOL Smooches.

In some ways he reminds me of you. I'm sure your skills are more superior, but his humor and yours are alike.

Two Thirds, thanks for the history lesson. I didn’t know all of that information about the Phoenix AND United Launch Alliance.

I feel much smarter now, thanks to you.

Lysie, first thing I have to say is that I love that Daddy was the Apple of my Eye. It’s also a commercial that they run in the movie theaters.

Carolinamom, Happy Birthday - even if I am a little late in the day. May you have many, many more regardless of that little thing called “growing old”.

I have to report that I met Jemian for lunch today. She is a sweetheart. We sat and talked and talked, didn’t leave the restaurant until almost 2:00. Good thing we called it quits by that time or they would have thrown us out — they close at 2:00.

I’ve met Jemian and oldngray, and I know exactly what Toby is talking about when he says we should all get together. Maybe one day!

Well, I have had a delightful day and birthday thanks to all your good wishes for even more birthdays...Mozie really knows how to throw a party!...

My daughter and I enjoyed a delicious luncheon plus cheesecake here afterwards (and some sent home for her hubby who was working)plus talk, talk, talk (she takes after me...lol). She also brought me a plant in a gorgeous pot. I had cards and phone calls from afar...even grandkids, and another talkative daughter is coming to spend the weekend w/me tonight...more stuff to do tomorrow.

(Will "rest" Monday. LOL)

No - we didn’t get that storm, lysie - we’ve been getting just the right amount of rain. Funny thing, tho - I’ve been worried about YOU because we’ve seen severe storm warnings for your area, LOL!
