I’d say he looks deranged - but I don’t want to insult the deranged people out there.

Yes ... the ‘oh, you want me to pay? let me find my checkbook, ask you what the date is’ ... people drive me bonkers as well, unless they are elderly. I just find it almost impossible to get upset with old folk. Then again, I’m almost never in a big hurry when I go to the store and life is just too short to sweat the small stuff.
To: JustaDumbBlonde
I try to be patient with old folks because I’m getting there waaaaaaayyyyyyy faster than I’d like and I’d like to think someone would show me that courtesy, when I’m that age.
My prayers now, when behind someone like that, is *God, spare me from becoming an “old” old person.*

It's not so pleasant.

About a month ago I was in the local supermarket in the express lane. The guy in front of me opens his wallet and discovers that he doesnt have enough cash to cover the bill (approx $30.00). Multiple credit cards are clearly visible, but for some reason the guy wants to pay with cash. So he walks out to his car in the parking lot to get more cash. The cashier stands there patiently with a queue of five customers. Eventually he comes back and finishes the transaction. I was so dumbfounded all I could do was stand there and wonder WTF.
