Continental should compensate her with a free round trip ticket for her and her kid on Delta.

Sounds like a typical kid to me. Probably hot, tired, cranky, needed a nap. After the slap on the behind, of course (smile).

The knee-jerk bragging about spanking gets really stale. Sure spanking can be useful as a measured part of discipline, but there’s so much more to discipline than walloping your kid.

I don’t know how it became part of conservative “street cred” to brag about walloping your kid. The bragging has come to be reflexive in threads like this, and is tiresome and juvenile.

However, that picture of the kid duct taped to the wall is really funny!

There’s no predicting how a kid that age is going to act.

An old standing rule of stage and live broadcasts: If a kid can upstage you, he/she will.

I’d rather hear the kid scream and carry on than to see someone give the kid drugs to keep him quiet.

While living overseas in Asia, I flew many times with my two kids....and those are looong flights. The Asian stewardesses are GREAT when it comes to dealing with kids on the flights. They actually enjoy children! The only time we ever had any problems with stewardesses was when we flew American carriers. Snippy, uppity and don't want to be bothered with ANY passenger, let alone children.

And the child wasn't that bad in the interview. He's not even 2 for goodness sakes.

Near the end of that Sawyer interview, Mommy said the kid ‘threw the tantrum of the century’ on the flight they actually did take later.

Kids will be kids. What’s she supposed to do - stay home forever and never go anywhere? People need to get a heart and give the baby and the frustrated Mom a pass. He’s just a baby, for goodness’ sake! This is what babies do.

Mom Booted From Plane Goes National; Toddler Bucks, Whines During Interview

This toddler is Exhibit A for why I down 50 mg of diphenydramine
(active ingredient in Dramamine) and one doxylamine tab about
30 minutes before boarding.

And if there is a lovely little noisemaker and a brain-dead parent
that won't calm them...
I take the dose again about 30 minutes after lift-off.

I do have some vertigo problems...and being sedated is just icing
on the cake if there's a wailing kid in the seat next to me.

(I'm always kind to such kids and their parents...thanks
to my poly-pharmacy approach!)

If the stewardess wanted the mother to drug her child, she should show the way by smoking marihuanahoochie first.

After all, if drugs are good for the baby, then they are great for the stewardess.

I watched the video of the mom and child during the “Good America” interview, but did anyone see a recent one of the mom, child and father? It was just aired in the last few days. I think Geraldo was doing the interviewing, and the child acted EXACTLY the same as on GMA. If I remember correctly, when the child started acting up, the mother handed him to the father who also could not control him.

I still think the F/A was wrong in reporting that the mother threatened her.

I found the weekend GMA spot on “adult zones” or kid free restaurants refreshing.

It’s gotten out of control, parents who refuse to discipline children and allow them to ruin entire dining rooms because they want the village to care for their kids are now ruining the notion of bring kids anywhere and everywhere.
