A Chicago television reporter’s job could be on the line after videotape surfaced of her at the home of missing mother Lisa Stebic.

WMAQ reporter Amy Jacobson, who has covered Stebic’s story, was caught on tape by the pool at the Stebics' home last week by rival channel WBBM Channel 2. The tape reportedly shows Jacobson “in a swimming suit top” at the pool on Friday with her children and Lisa Stebic’s estranged husband, Craig

The headline made me think that the missing woman was the reporter’s mom; since when do we have missing moms versus missing women, persons or fathers?

The reporter is suspected of messing around with the missing woman’s estranged husband, I guess, who might turn out to be a “person of interest” and then maybe people will think that the reporter is somehow implicated?

No, its acting. If you can’t get a job as an actor, you go into television “journalism.”

Old Professor yes when I heard the segment on Fox, I still could not figure out if they thought she was involved with him prior to his wife going missing.

One concern is that the media often has info that the police want to be kept quiet during investigations. It could be a real problem if she’s talking to him about things the police know.

Here's a picture of her:

There was a picture of her. Seems WMAQ has taken it down. She is definitely out the door now and I hope her kids have some other source of support, because it's not easy for a compromised news reporter to get another job.

A little bit backwards - the trend is actually toward more O&O.

In the old days, networks used to be limited to 5 ‘owned and operated’ stations (later 5 VHF stations with a total of 7); now it is based on a percentage of the market - a network can’t own the stations in more than 39.5% of the market (with an adjustment for UHF).

Here is some Wikipedia (with the usual FWIW caveat):

Amy Jacobson may be a blonde babe, but anything that ruins the MSM’s credibility is good.

The sister is the one who invited her over. Just might be a set up.

That crossed my mind, also. Then again, it could be the neighbors, having seen her there at times, who decided to get a WBBM cameraman involved. Either way, it seems there may be more to it than simple stupidity.

But the idea of the sister inviting her over to the husband's house is really intriguing. Heck, maybe she was in cahoots with the neighbors.

Well, WMAQ (her station) has nothing online about this that I could find. WBBM (the cameraman's station), however, claims she's no longer with WMAQ. They also write she's been seen there frequently. Oh, and the 'sister' is sister to the estranged husband. That makes it less than sensible that she's involved in any plot. WBBM link: http://cbs2chicago.com/local/local_story_191075534.html.

Jacobson’s attorney, Kathleen Zellner, said the tape should not be aired “because unauthorized taping on someone's property is a crime.”

"You can't just go around videotaping and disseminating the tape. ... To me, it begins and ends there.”

WHAT?!   What do reporters do?   What does everyone who owns a camera or camcorder do but exactly that?

This is almost worthy of a "Dinosaur Media Deathwatch" ping.....

Remember though, for Lifetime the guy always has to be the bad person.

It could still be done that way. Just say that Mr. Stebic deceived Jacobson into thinking he was innocent, cadaver dogs be damned. Someone made a movie out of serial killer Aileen Wuornos and made her out to be a victim.

The story about Jacobson being on the way to a fitness club in the bikini top when Stebic called for legit purposes doesn't hold water (pun not intended). If you are in a professional capacity talking to a suspect in the disappearance of an estranged wife, why nell are you hanging out with kids who may never see their mother again, perhaps because of the father? I suppose next, Stebic will claim he organized a pool party to make her feel comfortable.

Jacobson seemed pretty durn friendly with the kids, who seem to be used to her walking around in a state of undress. Stebic himself is NOT wearing a top throughout the clip.

Yes, of course, the neighbors are even slicker. Here's the reporter who thinks she's already covered up any involvement she could have had in the murder of Mrs. Stebic, and the neighbors are tagging her out to cover their own involvement.

Reminds me of Murder on the Orient Express.

Watch next who's been filming the neighbors film the "newsie" film the husband (and his sister ~ my word, just how immoral are these people ~ and the children ~ save the children).
