Good morning, Molly and all. I got a call from Jack last Tuesday all excited about making the beginning band in band camp. Now, this is a kid who has been playing the trumpet for three years, pulled straight A+s all that time, and is very good. I asked him what happened and he said, "But, Dad, this is with the trombone!" His Godfather lent him a 'bone, showed him the basics and he was off to the races! On Thursday, he lasted 10 minutes in Beginning Band was was kicked up to intermediate band. He is also playing second chair trumpet in the advanced band. He is having a good summer, which he has earned. His grades were passing and that is all I expected of him, given what he has gone through this year.

I applied for a lateral transfer to the line of business up in New Hampshire. If I do well on the interview, Jack and I might be moving back up there. He wants it and so to I. Cross your fingers or say a prayer!
