"Words cut deeper than any knife could. They hurt," said his stepfather, Joseph Sims. "When you hurt a child like that, you not only hurt him mentally, but it does hurt physically because you withdraw within yourself. That is what Matthew has done." Apparently this idiot has never heard the expression "sticks and stones". He is doing more psychological harm to his child than the teachers.
We have become a society of pansies, raising a generation of super pansies.

Apparently this idiot has never heard the expression "sticks and stones". I get so tired of that stupid expression, especially by those who use it to justify verbal bullying. Just because an emotional hurt doesn't always have a physical manifestation does not mean it is acceptable for an adult to direct hurtful or demeaning words toward a child.

So when you stick up for yourself you are being a pansy, but when you roll over and take it you are being...brave? I suppose the nasty piece of work that gave him this award is brave for mocking an 8 year old?
Just goes to show you that the school indoctrinated mentality if siding with the bully hasn't left some people. Side with the people in power ignoring right from wrong.
