I'm probably going to be pilloried for this, but I am distressed when conservatives apologize for bullying, public humiliation, and such things. How many times have we heard that the kids who give other kids "wedgies" become conservatives and their victims become liberals? Even "dodgeball," a sadistic game in which kids try to hurt other kids they don't like as much as they possibly can, is defended in the name of conservatism.
No, I don't advocate "self-esteem" as the be-all and end-all of education. But bullying and public humiliation, conservative? And opposition to them is liberal?
I'm sorry anybody feels that way.
