Fox News | 6/8/07

A "screaming" Paris Hilton has been dragged off to serve her full 45 days in jail. Reportedly screamed and called to her mother as she was taken away. More.

And I know plenty of people who work in courts who have seen worse get by a lot easier. They have a hard-on for Paris, and it sucks. Fair is fair.

“My professional opinion is that she is being treated too rough, given the severity of her offenses”

Youre right. They have gone out of their way to make sure it doesn’t look like they are giving her favorable treatment.
I disagree.

California DUI Law..
SECOND OFFENSE:

Two options, both carrying a fine of $390 to $1000, plus either:

(A) 10 days to 1 year in jail and an 18-month license suspension;

or

(B) 48 hours to 1 year in jail, an 18-month or 30-month alcohol/drug program, and a license restriction allowing driving only for work and alcohol/drug program for the duration of the program.
However, license shall be suspended for 18 months if the offense occurred in a vehicle which requires a class 1, 2, A, or B license.
Installation of interlocking device for 18 months.

The judge is not "being too rough" on her. He is within the law - and is punishing her for her disregard for the law.

Hopefully, this will be a wake-up call to her - and maybe the rest of the "WE ARE ABOVE THE LAW" Hollywood types.

So I assume that you would not have gotten early release from the brig because of an anxiety attack? :)

(Btw, thanks for your service.)

It’s a real delicate balance. Solitary keeps you safe from the other inmates, but then you’re stuck with yourself. Solitary can drive you crazy.

She was already on probation and broke the rules of it twice (3 if you include her failing to register for alcohol classes when she was supposed to).

By fighting so hard, Paris is traumatizing herself more then anyone. She isn’t getting good advice. She manipulated the system to get out, she should have never done that. Now that it has been reversed, this is why we are witnessing the uncontrollable screaming and crying, she is doing more to make herself upset then anyone else. She should be careful, she could end up working herself up into a complete breakdown.

re #135

Not true, my brother in law spent 30 days in the clink for driving whilst his license was suspended for DUI.

Fox is wall to wall with it. Shep is having a blast.

I haven't watched Shep in a while. Does he use the little bell every day or save it for special occasions?

And I know quite a few lawyer friends who have seen the common man get worse treatment than she first received. Cry me a river.

What a big immature spoiled baby she is. Maybe this situation will help her grow up.

SHe’s going to find herself with people who ENJOY her tears if she’s not careful.

But if she’s not in solitary she’ll be able to find protectors. All it takes is cash.

I actually think this is sad. Look at this Mary Winkler who shot her husband in the back. She is going to skip jail now and go straight to a mental facility for the next 60 days and be on probation for another year and a half. And Paris is going to go to jail for 45 days! This judicial system is all screwed up!

Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo issued the following statement to TMZ in response to Judge Sauer’s decision ordering Paris Hilton back to jail:

“This decision sends the message that no individual — no matter how wealthy or powerful — is above the law. Today, justice was served.”

I think Paris knows exactly what she is doing. One thing about her, she is no dummy. She knows that the more publicity she generates for herself, the more she can parlay that down the road.

"My professional opinion is that she is being treated too rough, given the severity of her offenses."

My rational opinion, as one who has been struck TWICE by drunk drivers who were driving on suspended licensee while on probation for previous DWIs -- is they were entirely TOO easy on this obnoxious and out of control skank...

In my court - I would have hung the bitch out to dry.
Too frequently -- we wait until one of these drunken bitches or bastards kills a law abiding innocent victim or child..

I believe an ounce of "preventative" measure is worth a pound of "cure" after the fact...

I'm more than tired of the "rich, famous, political and notorious" being exempt from the laws I must follow....

Just read on TMZ that she is appealing.

I don't know that she's all that appealing. Too skanky for my taste.

It wouldn’t have got this far, flyboy. It would have been bucked down six ways to Sunday. I just got off the phone with a lawyer I know who works as a clerk for a judge in LA, and she agreed. The other day I spoke with a clerk I know in Connecticut, and she agreed.

Paris can’t get a fair shake, that’s the truth. Law & Order hardons confuse being principled with being jackasses.

Calling it like it is.
