I agree that the man should get a medal. I have no problem with his actions.

I don't know the laws in NH, but I am reasonably sure that if I, as a MA resident, shot a man who seemed to be reloading his gun, I would be in a world of trouble.

There is a NH statute which covers the heroes actions, I just can’t find right now. Later maybe.

To be certain, NH gun laws are MUCH more “liberal” (in the sense - NOT RESTRICTIVE) and more pro 2nd Amendment. Your state, which I am now in, is even more IMO restrictive than NYC in some ways.
