SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - When the aliens finally invade Earth, you may wish you had listened to Travis Taylor and Bob Boan.
And if the invasion follows the plot of a typical Hollywood blockbuster, they might also be the guys called in at the last minute to save the day.
After all, they have written "An Introduction to Planetary Defense," a primer on how humanity can defend itself if little green men wielding death rays show up at our cosmic doorstep.
And yes, they're serious.
"The probability really is there that aliens exist and are old enough to have technology to enable them to come here," Taylor said in an interview.
Taylor and Boan are hardly basement-dwelling paranoids obsessed with tinfoil hats and Area 51. Taylor holds advanced degrees in astronomy and physics, and is an associate at consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton. He and Boan have done consulting work for the Defense Department and the U.S. space agency NASA.
But their views have won few audiences outside of science fiction conventions, and their book is published by BrownWalker Press, which specializes in fringe topics and books with titles like "The Science and Lore of the Plant Cell Wall" and "ESP and Psychokinesis."
Taylor acknowledged alien invasion is hardly a mainstream concern but said it is naive to assume -- as scientists like the late Carl Sagan did -- that any beings advanced enough to master star travel will have evolved beyond war.
"It's a wonderful idea that has no basis in reality," Taylor said.
FERMI'S BLUNDER?
Taylor and Boan -- along with co-authors R.C. Anding and T. Conley Powell -- revisit two issues that frequently pop up in the debate about whether homo sapiens is alone in the universe: Drake's Equation and Fermi's Paradox.
The formula drawn up by U.S. astronomer Frank Drake in 1960 tries to estimate how likely contact with an alien civilization is given factors such as the number of habitable planets.
Taylor and Boan plugged in what they felt were conservative estimates, such as that aliens cannot travel faster than 10 percent of the speed of light.
After crunching the numbers, they say it is possible that our Milky Way galaxy harbors thousands of intelligent alien species and that there is a "high probability" that one or two of them visit Earth every century.
But if there are so many aliens out there, why haven't we heard from them already?
That is the question famously posed by the physicist Enrico Fermi in 1950 to dismiss speculation by his colleagues that intelligent life should be routine.
Taylor and Boan are convinced Fermi got it wrong. Even if aliens used Godlike technology to jump across thousands of light years in a single day, they would still need millions of years to explore all the star systems in the galaxy.
They simply may not have stumbled across our neck of the woods yet.
MUJAHIDEEN-STYLE RESISTANCE
Taylor and Boan started thinking about how to respond to an aggressive extraterrestrial attack during a 2001 discussion about defending against terrorist attacks.
"One thing that popped into my mind was that the only way Americans would be in an asymmetric war on the other side would be if we were attacked by aliens. Everyone chuckled, but then after a minute the comments started setting in," Taylor said.
"Then we really got to talking about it and we thought, well, you know, we really might need this contingency plan anyway," Taylor said.
Failure to prepare may mean mankind will have to dig in and fight with improvised weapons and hit-and-run tactics, much the same way Islamic extremists have battled the U.S. military in Iraq, Taylor said.
"You'd have to create an insurgency, a mujahideen-type resistance," Taylor said. "The insurgents know how to win this war against us. It also tells us that if we were attacked by aliens, this is our best defense."
Not at all. One million years would do to visit every likely star. The problem would be in catching a new civilization in the eyeblink between when they discover electricity and when they self-detonate since that would require returning at frequent intervals. If they visit earth once a century they could miss the whole show.
My 12 ga remington 870 marine magnum, with a case or two of rifled slugs would seem to be the way to go.

They are deceiving the world masquerading as ET’s. It is conceivable to me but not at all proven that there MAY be SOME real ET’s who are ‘merely’ in cahoots with satan and gang vs being FALLEN ANGELS/WATCHERS playing the role.
THE WATCHERS/FALLEN ANGELS are not demons per se. But the differences may be inconsequential in terms of most of their activities, goals, methods etc.
It has been hypothesized that demons are the DISEMBODIED spirits of THE WATCHERS who’s bodies were destroyed in the flood of NOAH’s time.
I can’t find the side by side comparison . . . so from memory . . .
1. ET’s AND FALLEN ANGELS AND DEMONS ALL LIE, DECEIVE
2. ET’s AND FALLEN ANGELS AND DEMONS ALL have a preoccupation/occupation/involvement with sexual perversions, abuse, conquests.
3. ET’s AND FALLEN ANGELS AND DEMONS ALL promise wonderful things and never deliver or exact a price of deeper involvement, enslavement.
4. ET’s AND FALLEN ANGELS AND DEMONS ALL seem very given to deceiving with ‘the beautiful face of evil’ as ‘angels of light’ saviors of the world; saviors of us from ourselves etc. But the entrapment only deepens and sooner or later the sadistic side comes out.
5. ET’s AND FALLEN ANGELS AND DEMONS ALL reject the DEITY OF CHRIST in their deceptions yet kowtow submissively to an authentic declaration, presentation, use of THE BLOOD OF JESUS AND JESUS’ NAME by Christians who are authentically walking with Jesus, in His Spirit.
6. ET’s AND FALLEN ANGELS AND DEMONS ALL currently tend to share in propagation of NEW AGE/GLOBALIST GOALS, VALUES, AGENDA.

Originally probably in a vain attempt to prevent the coming of Christ the first time. ET’s AND FALLEN ANGELS AND DEMONS ALL tend to follow down the gnerations of families where individuals have particpated in: idolatries of varioius kinds; Scientology; New Age groups; Ouija boards; Dungeons & Dragons; rebellion arrogance, immorality, occultism, uncontrolled anger, and the usual list of common sins chronically participated in; volitional participation with demons or spirit guides etc.
9. ET’s AND FALLEN ANGELS AND DEMONS ALL tend to glorify man and give him false visions and dreams of personal aggrandizement, being his own god and master, ME, ME, ME emphases etc. while eventually demeaning and abusing individuals.
10. ET’s AND FALLEN ANGELS AND DEMONS ALL are able to transit between our time/space dimension and a spiritual or other dimension. Demons are disembodied spirits craving bodies to inhabit and express themselves through. Some speculate that the hybrids may be for that purpose or that the greys are bioengineered bodies designed to house demons. THE WATCHERS/fallen angels are seen as higher in the hierarchy of evil forces than demons. THE WATCHERS/fallen angels have bodies but which can materialize and dematerialize in our time/space dimension.
11. ET’s AND FALLEN ANGELS were before the flood and now intent on teaching and giving mankind weapons and technologies of warfare and deadly usefulness. Also, potions, and other techniques of mind CONTROL over others.

There is even one allegation that one “race” of ET’s at least—get’s high on a chemical produced by our brains when we are fearful.
They appear to be artists at terrifying. But also have a LOT of good cop/bad cop teams.

There are multiple stories repeated over many years of the following sorts of things with guns:
1. guns just wouldn’t fire; wouldn’t work—regardless of simiplicty of the gun.
2. guns have fired and bullets have been seen to leave the gun in very slow motion and then in a short trajectory fall to the ground a few feet ahead of the gun.
3. guns have fired and bullets have been seen leave the gun in slow motion or unseen at normal speed only to hit some force field between the guns and the ET’s and then fall to the ground.
4. similarly, bullets have been seen to bounce off a forcefield shield around the ET’s and/or their craft with not the slightest effect on the ET’s or craft.
5. Guns have become hot—too hot to hold.

IIRC, such things have occasionally worked—very rarely.
But the human had to swing the club etc. before the ET was aware of what was about to happen.
There have been tales where the human was picking up a club, knife or whatever and then in the midst of doing so just “forgot” what he was doing and left the club alone in a kind of zoned out state.

Certainly if the invading aliens decided to land on Earth while humans were still living, occupy and enslave humans we could wage a guerrilla war and have some chance of driving them off with a war of attrition.
I do not believe that a interstellar race with designs on Earth would have any use for human slaves. I there for reason that they would not bother to make a “beach landing” on Earth and take Earth by brute force.
A more reasoned approach for a race of vastly superior technology is to use a self replicating bioengineered virus designed to kill humans, mentally incapacitate or if they are willing to wait a few years render humans sterile.
Why should they challenge us physically when they can introduce a bio-organism that will do the work for them much more cheaply and with out risk to them physically. They kidnap a few hosts, infect them and return them to Earth. The hosts introduce the virus to the general population. The virus spreads rapidly and wipes out the vast majority of the population (if not all). Any remaining population could be exterminated by hunter/killer robots.
In my opinion we would never lay eyes on the invaders. To the invaders it would be an unnecessary risk.
Reasonable argument and logic.
However, just does not fit the facts that have been evident for more than 55 years.
Well let’s explore possible motives for their actions. (Using the evidence as published in the popular literature)
Why do they abduct (re-abduct) humans?
The aliens seem to be gathering biological samples. They may seeking cures for diseases as we do in the jungles of Amazonian rainforest or they may be seeking an efficient way to exterminate us.
They implant devices in human bodies.
These devices may be tracking devices to monitor our movements much as we monitor the movements of whales with radio trackers. The device may be similar the implantable chips that have been proposed for carry your medical history. These implants could help the aliens track their research.
The artificial insemination of women.
May be controlled genetic research designed to find common genetic mutations, the best places to implant artificial genes that will be passed on from generation to generation with out modification.
It is possible that the aliens are trying to design a specific human that can carry and spread their genetically engineered virus with out succumbing to the disease, a typhoid Marry. They may be creating and marking (with the implants) their genetically modified weapon carriers so that when they are ready they can infect the carriers with the virus and send them out in to the general population to infect the human race to wipe it out.
See, this is what happens when you eat the moosecheese. Stick with the cheddar.
The excellent . . . ALIEN ENCOUNTERS by Chuck Missler and Mark Eastman suggests that their agenda is the same as ever . . . pollute man’s bloodline . . . genetics
and, possibly . . . raise an army of compliant robotized hybrids to help implement the global government and then, also fight with God and His armies at Armageddon.
No one seems to have solid proof of much of anything as to their motives.
But if they really are, as seems to be true, the fallen WATCHERS mentioned in the Book of Enoch and the Old Testament . . . it’s quite plausible.
