she was at death's door about 6 weeks ago. She was so thin all of her bones protruded. She could not use the litter box & was continually in need of me washing off the results of that situaion. Re: tainted food/Cali's health... It was NOT the food, I dont believe. She never had any of the problem food UNTIL she was ill.
I normally feed a lot of cats & just get the really reasonable foods in big cans (from walmart or PetsMart). But to tempt her to eat I got the Iams, Fancy Feast etc. The Iams was the problematic food she ingested. But it wasn't that much. I gave her a lot of people food. Tuna fish, chopped ham, chopped chicken, raw egg/milk.
She is walking again (and had not for 3 months).. The two dogs are still afraid of her & she remains the Alpha animal in the house, although some of the younger cats in household are vying for that place.
Aaawww,
Cali looks very sweet...I can see the age in her eyes, though...glad she has improved a bit and is able to get around now.
I had occasion to visit a store (to purchase 2 flags) yesterday...there were cats everywhere! The proprietor said they have 12 indoor cats and a few more outside...they are known cat lovers and, apparently, people know that and drop their unwanted animals at their door...
She looks sweet. I’m so glad that she’s doing better.
BTw, my vet does recommend Fancy Feast very highly, it is also good for diabetic cats.
