Could you give me some info about a POA for a parent? As you may know, my moms in bad shape and so I’ve told them that i should be conservator for my dad when the time comes. He’s nearly blind and cannot read or write well because of that and has no experience doing bills or insurance or anything. Plus he’s really bad with money. They agreed and got it done in PA. So yesterday my mom told me that she got it but she described it as a “POA or whatever it’s called”. So i hope the lawyer went with the conservatorship, not just a POA. But i’m not too familiar with the legalities of POA’s. I do know about conservators because i used to own/operate a care home for mentally ill women and most of them had conservators. I’m afraid that my dad won’t pay his health insurance premiums. If he misses a payment they’re going to drop him like a hot potato. Thanks so much for whatever you can tell me. I haven’t seen the thing yet but when i do i’ll do more research.
They've still haven't proven when the will was faxed and to whom. There is usually a cover sheet to it which we have not seen.
Grab the phone records and we can probably find out when they were really sent.
Remember, there would have to be a duplicate set sent on the purported REAL DATE to "make it right" and that one should be on the 21st....because the time error wouldn't correct itself.
Regardless of EITHER date (3rd or 12th), there would be a communication Prior to "requesting it along where to send it".
And so, just saying....the 12th...Do you just say to yourself..."She's dead. Gotta get ahold of Rale and get the will.".....Was she even "cold????....Because that would be an "OLD FILE" and would likely take some time to access.

When my father was starting to show signs of dementia, I got a durable power of attorney, which gave it when he became incapacitated. Once he had a diagnosis, the POA ‘began’. Get something NOW, for later. Any probate attorney should be able to help and for not much money.
