Thread Number 3
BTW, I still like Denver.
No problem mon
WRT John Denver, i think you had to be there during his time to appreciate his music. What do you think?
I know..I hate his politics but I have such a soft spot for him and his music. Not sure if the spot should be for Bernie Taupin and not for him. I love Someone saved my life tonight..Philadelphia Freedom..that is a really good song and Your Song.
I think so too. It amazes me when I found out some people don’t know who he is. He was BIG! I’m not THAT old, (but I did start listening to him when I was pretty young) so it really makes me nuts that people don’t know him.
Nothing beats Annie’s Song by John Denver. That to me is one of those Ultimate Love Songs. Here’s a really good version with a Spanish chorus..

I always though he was so cute..
Ughh! You shoulda set them straight right there. Now i'm not sure about this, but i think i heard that Kashmir isn't a Zeppelin original. Someone will correct me if i'm wrong. But it might be an old old tune.
Did not know that. Good story too.
Which is sad. There’s something to be said about the songs from the 70’s. I also like the Carpenters.
I love a lot of 70’s music. Elton, John Denver, the Carpenters, Neil Diamond, The Eagles, ABBA, Queen etc...
I didn’t know that either. When younger I liked Van Halen better with Sammy Hagar but now I like them with David Lee Roth. I like Panama!!
Perhaps Love is really beautiful too and it became Annie’s favorite.
The 70's was his prime. Philadelphia Freedom, Daniel, This is Your Song, etc etc. OK, even Don't Go Breakin My Heart.
I forgot Eric Clapton and Phil Collins/Genesis.
I’m surprised at how many videos from that era you can find on youtube. I know he’s not popular but I also love some Cat Stevens. I love Peace Train and Harry Chapin..Taxi.
Me too. But Panama is not one of my faves. Runnin' with the Devil (a HKS tie in there), the real early DLR stuff.
LOL..yeah we must have that HKS tie in before ppl accuse us of threadjacking...ok for Howie..Elton’s Mad Man across the water...
It’s fun to go searching on their. I’ve seen John Denver with the Carpenters on there too—really vintage stuff..
I love Follow you follow me by Genesis...never got to hear any of the stuff with Peter Gabriel. I also love Floyd and I’ve done the Wizard of Oz/Dark Side of the moon numerous times and the synchronicities are there.
I know. He doesn't get much radio airtime. That exposure is what he needs. But there must be nobody out there pushing it on his behalf. It's beautiful music.
