I used to think that way ... what color does it matter ... but I've experienced kids of color adopted by someone of another race and the KIDS have ISSUES with this as they grow up. They may "love" their parents but the racial bond or whatever it is, is missing. I've seen other situations when the child is of the same race as the parents and adopted ... and it's a smoother transition and common racial ground gives them a bond of some sort.

I don't know ... ideally kids are more comfortable being adopted by parents of the SAME race - no question about that. These kids seem to be able to put aside the biological factor since they, the parents, look like them. In another family where the parents are Caucasian and the child was a black boy with biological children of the parents ... the adopted boy had issues - RACE. He is a nice boy but he doesn't relate ... he admits that he wishes his parents were of HIS race and btw these parents are LOVELY, LOVING people.

I state the reality and not the ideal - skin color shouldn't matter when adopted but reality is that it DOES matter in this world - unfortunately ... .

A family friend of my parents .... in their 70's now were travelling in Africa ... got caught in some conflict and simply TOOK a black boy who was homeless HOME to the U.S.. He would have been murdered had they not taken him as a small boy - he was already homeless and living off the streets. They were both Caucasian and they risked allot getting him out of that country and raised him as their own. Put him through college and really loved that boy and still ... he's nice to them but they believe the skin color difference still gets in the way of true love from the child - and these two are WONDERFUL people.

These children being adopted internationally are, for all intents and purposes, orphans. It is the sleazey media who dregs up their birth families and causes problems.

The problem is the social welfare system in the US. That movie star's newest child's birth mother doesn't have a prayer of getting her kid back - she'll just make for some sensational headlines for the trash media for a few months.

In the states, you can love a child in foster care for 3 years only to be forced to return him/her to a bad situation because the birth mother got out of prison.

For the record, there are not plenty of babies who are available for adoption. What we have got is plenty of older boys available only after they've been scarred by abusive, drug addled birth families for years on end.

In the 90's one could do direct adoptions with a VN orphanage. You had to provide all the U.S. financials, U.S. police clearance, etc., but didn't need to go through a U.S. agency (although there were several there).

After a 4 year embargo, looks like the new rules do require an agency, which as you know is more expensive (last I looked $10 to $20 K).

Wifey and I were going to adopt under similar circumstances to Jolie's kid (spousal abandonment and poverty), but the new rules weren't in place at the time so my wife's sister in VN adopted the infant rather than have her sucked into the VN orphanage system.

These children being adopted internationally are, for all intents and purposes, orphans.

The boy is an orphan under Vietnamese law, period.

No ifs, ands, or buts.

The mother abandoned him at birth, the grandparents became legal guardians, and they put him into orphanage with an adoption waiver (probably age and poverty).

The mother never showed her face. Not once.

There are some bad apples in the VN regional and local governments. But when it come to little kids and babies they generally want to the right thing, as most people would (this is my personal observation and experience).

Their communist government still sucks.

I have a huge problem with Angelina Jolie, graffiti scarred mental case being around any child. Did you see those adorable pictures of the boy in People magazine? I wonder how much AJ was paid for them? When People featured the newborn photos of her one natural baby, the one she calls a "blob" and said that she doesn't like as much as her purchases, she was paid four million dollarsUS for the photo shoot. Then she gave 300K to a local (Nambia) shelter and pocketed the rest. Do the math. Every one of these purchases has been a huge payoff for Angie baby, both in money and press coverage, but that is not what drives me right up the wall.

It is the last week of March, and so far this year, AJ AND THOSE KIDS, except for the blob, have been to Chad, Dafur, Vietnam (twice) New Orleans, Los Angeles, and right now are in Cannes. International criminals do not move around as much, and don't drag three helpless "look at me" trophy kids along with them.

This woman is disgusting beyond words, and it would take anyone less than ten minutes on Google to find this stuff out, plus a whole lot more. There is sick, and then there is scary scary sick. That's this 20 tattooes, anorexic, drug addict, lesbian, affair with own homosexual brother, blood vial wearing, home wrecking, hates her country, POS who should be the last person alive to be allowed to adopt.

Speaking of adoption, why not find out exactly why the average American peon is no longer allowed to adopt a baby from Cambodia. Angie queered it for everybody, it's a really interesting story that is buried more deeply than National Security secrets.

Meanwhile, the jets and the nannies pretty much take care of the purchases while AJ basks in her role of Mother Teresa from hell. Gawd, how I loathe that woman.

I don't understand why it is so out of fashion for these stars to adopt American children. We have plenty needing homes.

Disclaimer: I am not now, and will never, be standing up for Hollywood stars. LOL.

The reason many people wanting to adopt choose an overseas adoption is the few but potent examples of sick judiciary in this country. Judges have taken 4-year-old children away from their only parents (the adoptive parents) because some SHMUCK shows up and tests as the bio-father (sperm donor) and was never told his climax back in '02 made a child. It's such an atrocious occurrence that it's not worth the risk to the child.

All of three seconds, just by searching Jolie+adoption+Seattle+Cambodia. I know a couple who were denied a Cambodian child after this criminal case. Ever see a woman who has "lost" her child? I know one woman, and there must be hundreds thanks to psycho Angie. It's heartbreaking to see. BTW, buying 6 yr. old Maddox was an attempt to save her failing marriage to Billy Bob Thornton (it was his blood in the vial around her neck). He ran for the hills, but is remarried and a father now himself. That tells me that even BB knew that AJ was crazy and should not have children.

Just for the record and apart from Jolie's character issues, the adoption "industries" in Cambodia and Vietnam were both pretty corrupt.

Poor women would literally be convinced to sell their infants into baby mill orphanages, which in turn would turn them over to innocent foreign adoptive parents at a profit (they didn't know what as going on).

Oddly, the Vietnamese official who married my wife and I was also involved with this in Vietnam, and it was covered widely by the press here and in Vietnam.

He and his accomplices got 20 years in the slammer.

So the problem long preceded Jolie.

I really hate it that you're making me defend Jolie, but even in the stories you've linked to, there's no charge that Jolie knew her son had been "purchased" nor is there any factual evidence that he was.

As I said above the adoption systems in Vietnam and Cambodia were corrupt long before her arrival, and it wasn't widely known until about the time she started her adoption process.

Since I've lived in both countries and was following these stories when they were breaking, I think I know a little bit more about it than you do.

If you are really that interested, why don't you do some research on Maddox? Also, the rumours of corruption are starting to pile up around the latest purchase. Since you've given credentials in your posts, I am sure that you are far more aware of the possibility of corruption in both cases. Corruption, American style, is exactly how much money did she get paid for those People photos and also, why did she take the boy away so quickly when he cannot understand her or the nannies? Press deadline, is my guess.

Angelina Jolie is deranged, IMHO. She is collecting children just like kooky Mia Farrow, who also got away with it because of celebrity. The big difference between the two cases is that Mia's kids are American by birth, except for her adoption with first husband Andre Previn, and that would be her daughter, Mrs. Woody Allen.

Young girls look at this woman for her beauty and emulate her style. She is not married to the doofus she stole from another woman, she already has expressed disappointment in her illegitimate natural child, and she makes big bucks when she buys every kid. She looks like a ghetto billboard with all of her tattooes, she has been treated several times for drug addiction, and she tried to kill herself years ago when her lesbian lover refused to "marry" her. This is what the MSM exalts, and this is what young girls want to be like, and why they think they can do such things. It's OK because the world loves Angie for her outrageous actions.
I can't stand Paris, Lindsay, or Nicole either, but at least they are not dragging children through their skanky dirty lives. I think Brittney was condemned so strongly because she does have children, and then there is the ANS lowlife circus that will not end. By far, the worst of the whores who inhabit CelebLand is scary phony, Angelina. People believe that BS and it is a shame.
