That probably explains the bizarre dream I had the other night about being with a male friend (Don't ask me who....never saw him before, but I DID like him, which gave me the impression that that was why I was in that awful place to begin with.) who was doing some kind of charity work in some Mexican ghetto (only it was in the US). The streets were littered with dingy-looking hispanic men squatting in the midst of piles of shoes that were tumbing into the roads. I guessed they were peddling them. None of the men spoke a word of English, but they would get mad if you drove over one of their shoes, which was unavoidable, and they actually expected people to get out and move them out of the way. These weren't nice shoes, either. They were hideous, rubbery-looking things. It was like Mexican shoe hell. Picture New Orleans after Katrina, only without the water, for a visual.

What part of Georgia are you in? I lived in Georgia for 3 years. Went to college there. I absolutely loved it.

Southern Georgia near Thomasville. We love it too. I could use a little less humidity and a little less bugs but I’ll take them in trade for a slower pace and folks with manners. This is a nice state to live in.

Gnomes looking for crunchy bits = shoe hell.
Yup, that’d be my fault.

"This is a nice state to live in." Yes, it is. I lived outside of Augusta.

"An ice-blue lake shark..." Should we change his name to "Popsicle Shark?"

Menopause does funny things to your mind, doesn’t it? ;)
BTW, wacoal is an excellent choice, I prefer that brand myself.

I managed to obtain chocolate [cacao] seeds.
Cacao isn’t supposed to grow in the far northern extremes of Silicon Valley, indeed, it isn’t supposed to grow north of the 20th parallel.
OTOH, I’ve seen it, well, OK, one tree, growing as far north as Fullerton, CA (34th parallel). Sadly the idjit cut it down.
Anyhoo, I want some cacao growing outside the normal range just in case a plague takes out the world’s existing plantations...

Who said anything about menopause? I've had weird dreams all my life (remember, there is that possibility that Darks and I are related)...just not usually about dingy Mexicans peddling butt-ugly shoes.
I have to tell you a funny shoe story though....well, I thought it was funny, given the discussions lately. I was talking to my daughter on the phone the other night and we were talking about...you guessed it....shoes, or, more specifically, shopping. She said to me, "it's funny, because I never used to care anything about shoes, and now I want to wear all these cute styles." I guess it must be a gene that starts to kick in at a certain age or stage or something.

We have the place battened down for the tornado threats. Thunder everywhere, but only slight rain and wind for now.
No matter if we were home or here, I guess we’d catch it. Sighhhh. The kids are getting out the generators and finding some wood at our house in case they need it.
If it gets hinky here we will put some of our storm shutters down.
Will check in later.
