Yeah. Darling Daughter is out of the nest. Ratboy is 3 yrs 9 months and 27 days away from his majority.

Calmness in Our Lives...

I am passing this on to you because it definitely works and we could all use a little more calmness in our lives.

By following simple advice I heard on the Dr. Phil show, you too can find inner peace. Dr. Phil proclaimed "The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and never finished."

So, I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off 23 Bud Lights, a bottle of Absolute, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Prozac prescription, the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos and a box of chocolates.

You have no idea how freaking good I feel. Please pass this on to those you feel might be in need of inner peace...

I was on my way home last evening after taking my son in law to the rail station when I received a call that Merchi, at 93, had died peacefully half an hour earlier. I turned around and went to their place. The two remaining sisters out of ten, Mari and Matu were terribly upset. The last two of my Banda of five, as they called themselves. In the last dozen years we had traveled together throughtout Spain, Portugal and other Europe countries, and to the Spanish Islands of Majorca and the Canaries.

They were the most delightful of companions, with the exception of my wife, they traveled more in the last years than in their entire lives. Of all the nine sisters only three married, the remainder were born at the wrong time in Spain´s history.

The ladies were of marrying age during the Spanish Civil War where millions of young men were slaughtered, then the extreme poverty and deprivation that followed, made survival the most important concern.

Their mother, Mama Mercedes, whom they all loved dearly, is gathering her children around her once more.

I’m so very sorry about your Merchis loss, Cardy. She was a woman with so much pizzaz and life. She was the leader of the pack and a Lady of class right to the end.

The other sisters will miss her terribly, as the rest of the family will as well. Take care of yourself and the others, and come back when you feel up to it.

I really suck at this stuff, but my thoughts are with you. :(

That was very touching Cardy and sad to have a dear friend move on to the next realm.

I believe they are still with us as we continue on this journey here before we to again will meet love ones and friends.

Just like those young men in service who never had a chance to marry I believe in my faith many will have a opportunity to marry.

I don´t wamt this to be a downer on the thread. Old people dying simply complete the normal cycle of life. It is only sad when the young go too soon.

I took them out to a park by the coast six weeks ago and as you can see Matu tried to throw her into the sea. Now she only has to dispose of Mari to become top dog or something. :)

Into the sea with her --- now Mari will have to watch her back.

It’s just like you, Cardy, to surround yourself with beautiful, classy women. They are so lucky to have you in their lives. I’m so sorry for the loss of Merchi. I know it’s a huge loss to all who knew her. My prayers are with you all.

One heavy day I ran away from the grim face of society and the dizzying clamor of the city and directed my weary step to the spacious alley. I was engrossed deeply in thought and my spirits were sailing the firmament when a hour, wearing a sprig of grapevine that covered part of her naked body, and a wreath of poppies about her golden hair, suddenly appeared to me. As she she realized my astonishment, she greeted me saying, "Fear me not; I am the Nymph of the Jungle." "How can beauty like yours be committed to live in this place? Please tell me who your are, and whence you come?" I asked. She sat gracefully on the green grass and responded, "I am the symbol of nature! I am the ever virgin your forefathers worshipped, and to my honor they erected shrines and temples at Baalbek and Jbeil." And I dared say, "But those temples and shrines were laid waste and the bones of my adoring ancestors became a part of the earth; nothing was left to commemorate their goddess save a pitiful few and the forgotten pages in the book of history." She replied, "Some goddesses live in the lives of their worshippers and die in their deaths, while some live an eternal and infinite life. My life is sustained by the world of beauty which you will see where ever you rest your eyes, and this beauty is nature itself; it is the beginning of the shepherds joy among the hills, and a villagers happiness in the fields, and the pleasure of the awe filled tribes between the mountains and the plains.
