That was all he knew as he wiped a tear away from his eye.
He’d known it would come to this, this ignominious end of what he thought was all there was.
A few more shovelfulls of dirt, and it was done.
He looked back at the now empty house.
The barren fields.
The sheer emptiness of space.
A vast gulf of regret and sadness between him and the door that had been safety oncee.
Once.
Tamping the dirt down, he set his jaw firmly.
Best to do this right.
Yes, right.
It was the only way.
A quick prayer, and he sethis hat on his own grave before fading into the advancing twilight.

I have found that the skeeriest thing about Floriduh is not that it is hot flat and ugly.......
It's the drivers.
Dang, they are strange. Took me a while to realize that the median age level causes very strange reactions.
I now understand why they can't vote.....but why in the world are they allowed to get behind the wheel of a car?
