"And think of a girl I used to know..."....JJ61(wink)
Mine too. :(
Actually, that was Manfred Mann's Earth Band. Written and originally performed by Springtseen.
I think "Blinded By The Light" was the Steve Miller Band.
Not positive though....JJ61
They didn't sing that song.
Gosh I really regret not going but there is nothing I can do about it. I'm so glad you and your son got to talk to Brad - he seems like he was a class act.
The first Boston album is THE first full album I really got into. The fact that it was my sister's and I wasn't supposed to touch it of course made it irresistible on a taboo level and consequently on an enjoyment level. I still remember jamming the album while watching out our living room window just in case my sister got home early from work.
I'm jamming the first album as I type - "Smokin'"
Thanks for the clarification....JJ61
Their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet a sit hear and I cry as I listen to "More Than A Feeling".
Truly, as if I have just heard it for the first time.
And in a way...for the last time.
Rest in peace Bradley. You were loved by millions.
This is almost akin to the day that U.F.O. died.
I remember when Elvis and John Bonham died. I won't go into the details of my Mom's encounter with unknown neighbors whilest jamming Elvis loud and clear that long lost August day, nor my encounter with several irate individuals while I was in U.S.A.F. tech school when Bonhamm died.
The funny thing is that though I was had the pleasure of being main floor center (about 20 rows back), I have no Boston whatsoever in my repetoire.
Boston shall live on in my mind akin to the Beatles.
I don't know what I'm personally going to do to commemerate this sad event, but I'll figure out something.
We're getting old guys. I'm certain that the younger generation are yawning and rolling their eyes.
That albumn cover that you show as autographed, that was during the days of CSN.
Right. That's a cool album cover that you have there. Looks like I may have to find some dope.
Allow me to run through some works by Joe Satriani and see if it feels all good. I'll have to get back to you on all that, and what not.
Rest in peace.
lmao...you just made me inhale Pepsi through my nose. I should know better than to read FR while drinking something lol.
Not hardly.
My Susan was...well...I'll never forget her. Never.
Since I have no dope, and don't expect to get any soon, I could only drink a beer, and smoke a cigarette (while listening to Vince Vrbenic's "Hand_to_Hand".
Maybe I'm just lame...
I believe Boston's debut album was the first LP that was mixed specifically for its sound on the FM dial. Band member Tom Scholz was something of a neurotic perfectionist (an MIT student at the time, I think) who spent several years perfecting that sound for the album's release.
The hit track "More Than A Feeling" remains one of the most frequently-requested songs on the radio, and it never gets old.
The ride I was in was a bronze copper color and had the landau roof with oval opera windows and a 460 cu in. plant and power everything.
We used to call it the Land Yacht. Many good times we had in that old beast. The best times.
It really is like hearing it for the first time again. After you've heard it a million and a half times, it's easy to forget what a near-perfect 4 minutes and 45 seconds of rock and roll this song really is.
Two good points.
About the first...I plan on getting langered tomorrow.
About the second...let me say that my 17 year old son took the news with head bowed and solemn countenance.
He is a gutar player and knows full well what Boston is and where they stand in the Rock Pantheon.
I love that kid.
