UPDATE: The Anna Nicole Autopsy Report

March 21, 2007

Cause of death in the Anna Nicole Smith case to be released Monday or Tuesday of next week.

Wednesday morning, investigative reporter ART HARRIS spoke with DR. JOSHUA PERPER -- the Broward County medical examiner assigned to the ANNA NICOLE SMITH case -- for an exclusive update on the cause of her death.

While Dr. Perper said he would not speculate as to suicide or any other rumored cause of death, such as pneumonia or a possible drug overdose, he made it clear he would not determine the cause of death as an accidental suicide.

"There is no such thing as suicide by accident," he said. "In order for the manner of death to be suicidal, it has to be the intention of the person to take their own life."

He will finish evaluating the new evidence in the case by the end of this week. He will release his findings as soon as next Monday.

"The [results] will be released in a timely manner, at the beginning of next week," he tells ET.

According to Dr. Perper, there will be a press conference on Monday or Tuesday. The exact cause of death will be released at that time.

Some have speculated that there have been delays in the findings because of a maystery surrounding Anna's sudden passing. Law enforcement sources close to the investigation tell ET that Anna Nicole's death still remains suspicious, but investigators have not turned up enough evidence to convene a grand jury or pursue a criminal investigation. They tell us HOWARD K. STERN has cooperated with authorities and has given them permission to look at a computer which they are examining for suspicious keywords and phrases.

Disappointing, HKS gets away with it.

Everything keeps being pushed out further into the future!

The Autopsy report had been just pushed out to this Friday - and now is pushed out to next Monday or Tuesday?

The DNA test results can't be revealed until the earliest April 3?

The House eviction process has started but there is a hearing for this not til May 10?

Yes, the inquest into Daniel's death is SUPPOSED to start next week - March 26....but I'll believe it when I see it. Surely it will drag on and on forever.

And, yes, they did finally actually take the DNA test on Danielynn and LB today.....but nothing on Stern (which is a victory for him). I realize Stern is not required to have a DNA test ---- but if (we all hope not) the DNA test does not confirm LB as DL's father, Stern wins!

So, color me much less positive than LB that things are proceeding positively.

I think Stern has WANTED delays out the kazoo - and he has won every one of them.

I think the Bahamian officials are still in his pocket.
