My girlfriend had her baby in Germany during the Vietnam Conflict. She and her husband were both US Citizens. The daughter has DUAL citizenship. I think this might be an Embassy matter and rather quick.

Before the girl went to Germany after she grew up, she contacted the Embassy to make sure that she would have no trouble getting OUT of Germany. They told her the ropes in case anything flukey happened.

Yeah, that's what I was wondering...if it had to be a passport issue. Of course, after 9/11 everything has changed.

My older daughter has dual citizenship also. I had her in Heidelberg, Germany...both of us, mother and father, are American citizens.

That's a little strange. You just get an American passport and visit. My daughter has had no problem visiting Gemany, even though her birthplace on it says Germany.
