Since things are a little slow right here i'll throw out an outside the box idea.

Is it possible that Anna was suffering from Stockholm Syndrome?

Some of us believe she was being held hostage in that house? Whereever she went, she had Howard or a "bodyguard" with her (which per se is not so unusual, but heck even Paris Hilton goes out shopping by herself sometimes and bodyguards aren't attached to her hip). Even on LKL she had Howard right next to her.

On this site http://ask.yahoo.com/20030324.html you'll see that the original Stockholm incident took only 6 days. And "small acts of kindness" by the captors are what gives the captor power over the victim. Also violence, threats, duress, etc.

Absolutely!

Isolation from long term friends and family members.
Foreign environment.
Controlled activities - Anna didn't drive - had no independence of movement.
New people introduced with defined loyalties
No incomining or outgoing phone contact allowed
Restricted use of computer and emails - probably monitored
Drugs out the ying yang for ultimate mind control and dependency

Think Sean Hornbeck!

The more drugs Anna did, the less likely she was able to act on her own accord. However, prior to an event, it was detox time, time to switch drugs and get with the uppers/pain killers. Addicts typically know how their drug agenda goes, timing the drugs to correspond to their daily/weekly/monthly activities.
