I don't think Howard is worried about the jury as much as he worried about some of the witnesses. Remember, his act was over...and he doesn't REALLY know who saw what when they yelled "help" for Danny.

IMHO, the most contoversial thing Howard said after Danny died was "SHE HAD A LOSS OF MEMORY OF THE EVENT". That was on September 14 via what I would consider an Official Statement by Michael Scott, Anna's attorney.

I'll bet Howard is doing everything he can to get rid of Scott as a witness. This delay isn't about the jury, it's about the witnesses. He just wants to tell his little story with no imput from anyone else.
