Oh, that nasty little fax with that nasty little date. My fax system is OLD and the only problem I ever have is when the time changes in spring and fall.

There is likely another communication for that fax because SOMEONE had to say: Hey, send me...you can fax it to...

And there's normally a cover sheet with either a typed or handwritten date.

Wills are not normally sent via fax. They are usually via overnight mail.
