The Hobbit Hole XXXIII - And the brook that leaps from hill to plain...

Posted on 03/08/2007 2:40:27 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

You Are A: Bear Cub!

bear cubBears are strong and independent creatures who roam in the forest in search of food. Bears are usually gentle, but anger one and be prepared for their full fury! You're tough, you won't back down from a fight, you have a bit of a temper -- classic attributes of a bear. Intelligent and resourceful, though lazy at times, you are a fascinating creature of the wild.

You were almost a: Pony or a Puppy
You are least like a: Chipmunk or a Duckling
What Cute Animal Are You?

They say 4 to 6 during the day today, 1 to 3 tonight.

I might let Talon move us to Texas after all.

Dunno if you heard or not but the Indians (Cleveland) delayed their home opener for at least four days and ended up starting the season in Milwaukee (domed stadium.)

At least a few of my peas survived.

When there’s a half inch of slushy, wet, wet snow to wipe off my car on April 11, and inches more on the way, yeah, that’s a sign of the end times. Or something. I have just about lost my patience for winter.

No kidding... well, they’ve been wrong more than right so far so maybe we’ll get spared.

I’m not sure what survived in our yard. The azalea blooms are just about gone. Not sure if we lost the hydrangeas or not.

But, in the “I love a bargain” dept., I bought a dozen dead Easter lilies at Lowes last night for $0.25 each. They’re bloomed out for this season, but plantable.

I usually check them out a couple of days after Easter. And I needed to get some stuff to fix something for Nana.

In years past I’ve bought a couple a dollar each. Last night the sign said $0.50. But when the sales clerk saw me looking at them she said they’d be a quarter each.

The come back nicely. They don’t bloom until later in the summer, but who cares?
